Wifi problems on Mac
-
Here are 3 options:
- Is there a terminal emulator on your Mac? if so, use that instead of Pronterface.
- Use Pronterface, but for every lowercase character in your SSID and password in the M587 command, prefix that character with a single quote character. This will undo the conversion to uppercase that Pronterface performs.
- Move the SD card to a PC, then in the /gcodes folder create a file called SetNetwork.g. In that file, put the M587 command that you want to send. Save it, safely eject it, put it back in the Duet and restart the Duet. Then run M98 P"SetNetwork.g" from Pronterface.

Let me know if the description of how to proceed from DC42 isn't enough and I can provide an example macro that you can fill in your SSID and password and use to add the network.

Hi guys, I still having the same problema using Windows, can´t setup the wifi.
M552 S1

WiFi reported error: no known networks foundthis is what I have

@Jaime Are you working through this guide? https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7
It sounds like it's not finding a network that it knows about to connect to.
If you're connected using YAT on a Windows PC, send:
M552 S-1 ; to stop WiFi module
M552 S0 ; to put Wifi into idle mode
M587 ; to get a list of remembered WiFi networksIf your network is not on the list, add it with:
M587 S"your-network-ssid" P"your-network-password"
M587 ; get list of WiFi networks to check it's there
M552 S1 ; to connect to the networkAlso send M115 and post response. There is a bug in RRF 3.0 that doesn't set the password, so update to latest if using RRF 3.

@Jaime Send M115, post response.
Copy paste the log from sending the commands in my previous post, so we can see the responses. Without information, we can't help!

@Jaime said in Wifi problems on Mac:
Remembered networks:
RED WI
RED WI-FI DE JAIME CAPLLONCH
RÃD´D´E´J´A´I´M ´E´C Ã
Red Wifi de Jaime CapllonchThese are all different. What is the real SSID?
Ian
-
@droftarts is a space an acceptable character in RRF for the SSID?
-
@droftarts
this is the real one
Red Wifi de Jaime Capllonchhow can I delete the others?
-
@Jaime M588 S"ssid" I think is the correct format?
-
@Dougal1957
M587 S"Red Wi-FI de Jaime Capllonch"
this supouse to be correct. -
@Jaime I think so but it is a longtime since I had to do it!
-
Send
M588 S"*"
to clear the entire current list.Then send
M587 S"Red Wi-FI de Jaime Capllonch" P"password"
Then send
M587
by itself to see if it was added to the list correctly.If the letter case wasn't preserved, you can use a macro on the SD card to add it rather than send it over USB console.

@Phaedrux
Awesome!! thats great WORKS!!
thanks a lot. -
@Jaime none of the ones that were stored were correct; SSID is case-sensitive, and/or hyphen was missing!
Ian
-
@droftarts thanks for your help !!
-
@Jaime hi, just to be sure, wich is the latest firmware?
-
@Jaime You're on FIRMWARE_VERSION: 2.02(RTOS), from 2018-12-24. Latest is 2.05.1, and has many fixes. Here: https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/tag/2.05.1
You could update to RepRapFirmware 3, which is the version that will be receiving the development from now on, but if you don't need the features, stick to RRF 2.
