Is it possible, or better said, would it be possible at all to have a meshbed levelling with IDEX machine ran by duet RRF? And if, would Duet2 do the job or would one want/need duet3?

Yes you can use mesh compensation with IDEX and Duet2.

I run an IDEX machine on a Duet2Wifi and Duex5, using mesh compensation. I do use "Bed levelling using multiple independent Z motors" as I have only one Z motor.

Happy to answer any questions that I can.

I cannot guarantee this is correct without doing some searching (cannot recall where I read it!) but in mirror/ditto print I believe the mesh compensation applies only down the length of the shared axis... this needs to be checked up on though.

I have a dual Z axis IDEX. Well, technically it is already a IDDX (dual dual x gantry...on both sides of carthesian)
But none the less i’d like to know if it’s possible to intepolate the meshbed along the X axis in ditto mode

Sounds like a super cool setup, but unfortunately I don't think I can satisfactory answer your query - sorry about that!

@dc42 in this post, you mention that there is a possibility to have dual height map for independant Zs...

                        https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/1363/idex-x-and-u-on-separate-z-leveling-bed-mesh/2?_=1602050345600

I am interested in just that for ditto printing.

As discussion never sparked there about that, could you elaborate that further?
I now have dual dual IDEX, but having an option to make dual Z for the rest of community gathered, i may try to implement that. Or just to have a dual prints meshbedlevelled ability...

                        Thank you

@Phaedrux as promissed, the pictures of a build in progress

                          It got pretty compact.
Needs a lot of work still to get the flat round cabling routed to both sides of X gantries from the bottom, then flat cables from there to each head, make breakout boards on toolheads for ribbon cables etc.
But all in all. There is progress
