          So you're using out5 twice here. You'll need to trace back your wiring and identify which fan is connected where. Right now you're trying to define the part cooling fan and the heatsink fan to the same output.

            @phaedrux look at the latest post they are turned off. I try to figure out which one was working. Neither start the fan. Wiring is hooked up to OUT5 as the smart effector recommendations suggest

              It's currently set as a thermostatic fan to turn on when the heat sink gets above 45c. Are you test ing that way?

              To force the fan on you can send M106 P1 S1 H-1 Does that work?

                  @phaedrux can confirm fan doest work, must be wiring. but again these "how too config docs" are all over the place and do not have any good indication of how to set these up correctly in my opinion.

                    Well you have set it up correctly other than using the output pin twice. If it's a bad wire or some other damage that can make it seem like it's not setup correctly.

                    Can you connect the fan directly to the out5 pins to test to eliminate the wiring in between? If it still doesn't work, connect the fan to VIN and see if it's the fan itself or the out5 pins.

                      @phaedrux so I went ahead and tired this. My issue still remains. Can someone please help me diagnose this issue. Or else I’m stuck with 3 boards that can’t work for my machines.

                      I’m still using the out5 pin. My config files are fine. I’m directly connecting to the pins. And I’ve even used different fans. Someone has to know to problem here..

                        @eddygara have you tried connecting a fan directly to OUT5 on the Duet, to check that the OUT5 output is still working?

                          The last config you posted still showed out5 used in two different places - that cannot work as intended.

                          This is the heat & fan section from my config for a delta with smart effector, using a Duet3 6HC board.

                          I have no problems with heaters or fans; the heatsink fan turns on at 45'C and the part fan runs as set by the slicer G code.

                          The tool sensor type is different to yours and will need changing back to the 100K thermistor rather than the PT1000.

                          If you are still not sure, post a photo of the Duet board showing what's connected where??
