      @jay_s_uk thanks for the update and good news from @FLY . Looking at the flythings IDE without installing it, it appears to be based on eclipse? Is there a reason not to use a default eclipse install? Whats the rational behind a custom IDE?

        @t3p3tony it does appear to be based on eclipse.
        Even though its called flythings IDE it is produced by the manufacturer of the screens and is not associated to @FLY

          Awesome! Has anyone actually had any hands on experience with the screens on here? Kinda like the UI on it, but i'm afraid it might not be as "snappy" as a PanelDue🤔

              Well yeah a full duet specific "walktrough" with the english setuo would be cool. Also, is the new duet thumbnail integration working with the screen etc?

                @exerqtor I can do a video. I have a 4.3" hooked up on one of my machines.
                And no, the QOI support hasn't been added yet but I've already requested it and provided file samples

                      @jay_s_uk, thanks for letting us know. A couple of questions:

                      1. is this really open source? I see a lot of binary files there, e.g. encryption.o.

                      2. Is the hardware also open sourced? IIRC, from the pictures, they seems to use a MCU I was not familiar with and I would like to learn more about it.

                      3. Can this be built from sources only using a standard tool chain? I avoid installing on my computers software from the non free world.

                        @zapta

                        1. The only binary files are around the serial numbers of the screens. This is to prevent another 3d printer supplier cough BTT cough from selling the screens and using the flymaker firmware.
                        2. I'm not sure if the hardware itself is open source as its a premade screen from a chinese supplier. I believe the 7" screen is type 6 found here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000494264291.html
                        3. Which leads to as its premade screen, it utilises the manufactures software for firmware generation. So no, you can't use a standard tool chain.
