    I've been using a V2 smart effector for years and it works great. So much so, I sold someone on a new printer with a smart effector so ordered one.

    What I got is useless crap. This new resistor arrangement is about as sensitive as old junk FSR mounted to the bed. I can watch the effector tweak as it literally crashes into everything, bending a three point mounted 3/16 aluminum plate as it does so.

    I swap the not useless smart effector on and it'll calibrate with reasonable values, nothing else changed. Swap the new 3.0 over and I'd be better off calibrating manually.

    Can I get a V2 smart effector still? Or do I need to make my own now?

      @moonie223 I don't know why you have issues. I have 2 of the V3 effector and it works perfectly fine.
      So with the V3 installed, do taps on the underside of the nozzle with your finger register?
      When and where did you purchase the effector?

      Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

        Within the last three weeks, from printedsolid...

        The finger test works, but it takes a lot more force than the v2 I also have. Even setting the sensitivity to the lowest value it takes real force to trigger it. Doing a probe repeatability test shows it's only accurate to 0.2mm across 10 hits.

        The printer I built is pretty stable, I was able to calibrate it using paper and the V2 and get really good prints still so I doubt it's the hardware, especially since I can swap a V2 on and use the default sensitivity and get repeatability in the micrometers...

            @moonie223 as i had similar Problems pls check your Hotend...if its not abolutely tight screwed together, your senivity is crap...better check it twice...on my ht heatbreak become just a tad loose in the heatsink and from one day to another the smart effector seemed to be brocken..took a while to get it..
