What firmware are you running on the Duet and PanelDue respectively?

Does your config.g contain the command to enable the PanelDue?

Do you have a 4-wire cable to test with as an alternative?

        I am running PanelDue fw 3.4.0 and RepRap 3.3 my config.g has M575 P1 S1 B57600 and I don't have a 4 wire cable right now. However I can make one in 10 minutes.

3.4 on the Panel and 3.3 on the Duet should probably work, but just in case, you can update the Duet as well. You should be on 3.4 anyway.

Upload this zip file as is to the system tab:

          https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/3.4.0/Duet2and3Firmware-3.4.0.zip

If that doesn't help, please try a 4-wire cable. If you don't plan on using the SD card slot on the PanelDue the 4-wire cable is preferred anyway.

If you're still having troubles after trying that please post your full config.g and the results of M122 and M98 P"config.g". Also post the exact firmware version of the PanelDue as shown on the setup tab.

@phaedrux The four wire worked. However, I would like SD functionality. What do you suggest? Should I ask my distributor for a new cable?

However, I checked the continuity of the ribbon cable and it was continuous. So what else could be the problem?

It's getting power through the ribbon cable, but it seems like the data connection is not working.

Can you also check the resistance of the ribbon cable wires?

Can you also inspect the socket on the board for solder defects?
