      for a higher ambient heat than usual would lower or higher currents be better if this was the limitation at hand?

        60 to 80% is usually the guide. But it's just a loose guide.

        If you think the motors are going above 80c, then lower the current. If that leaves you with too little torque, lower the acceleration.

          @phaedrux sorry I mean to say ambient meaning the chambers heat not motor heat i am good down to 1600 and can get 7k Acc reliably but is a bit warm say 45Cish i was thinking to goto 1200 and try 5K to off set the chamber heat witch will be turned on soon i just dont know how the AMBIENT heat impacts the steppers performance thus tuning it coldish without the chamber first

            I wonder which parts of the motor might suffer most from high ambient temp? I guess the biggest effect would be demagnetisation of the stator?
            Is there a way to shield the motors from chamber temp in your frame? I understand that most people aiming for high chamber temps try to build their frames with motors outside of the hot zone or use watercooling.

                @o_lampe the bellows will be added and fire pillows added inplace of the 80C stable foam for isolation soon but not soon enough

                  @rexx i am just going to try 1200 mA and see if its suffice i was hoping somone was able to say they have used 23's down to 1200mA but want a bench mark for when all else is on

                    @o_lampe LDO also makes a HT stepper good to 180C so magnets are ok until then

                      I recently found, that these motors run fine with higher driver voltage and lower amps. But it depends, how much speed or torque you need.
                      Anyway, 48V allow for a wider range of settings.
                      If you have the 6-wire version, you can change their behaviour even more.

                        That would be my plan B, if the 23HS22 fail, replace them with LDO HT motors

                          @o_lampe kool i did not know this cheers but i have 8 wire paired up to 4 and am only 24V currently booooo but am only cartesian so i want to target 1600mA but will try to start at 1200 and see

                            @rexx Pairing them to parallel coils is probably the best config for 24V 👍

                              @o_lampe will your adverage meanwell power supply surge DC voltage side if the AC side volts fluctuate slightly from the chamber heaters on and off of ac mains power much? what do you think?

                                No, AFAIK these switch mode PSU are immune against sagging AC voltage. Their control loop is on the output side and there are huge capacitors between the AC rectifier side and the output.

                                  @o_lampe i think so too.
                                  i know it would if the chamber was on the DC side but would think the auto voltage input would have ability then regulate the DC side stable
