            Hi guys,
I'm playing with my new extruder and would like to know how much it extrudes in a real print.
Is it possible to display extrusion volume in DWC? Printspeed, layerheight and layerwidth? should be available for calculations.
I extruded in free air to get ballpark numbers, but real life is different.

What should the update criteria or interval be? i.e do you want volume per second say, or volume per n mm of head travel or volume per move or volume for the entire print? A simplified calculation would be the cross sectional area of the filament x the extruder travel.

@deckingman current flow mm3/s updates once per second

Even adding a new Chart (new tab on top of existing layer chart) showing volume flow over time, similar to layer chart, so we could see entire time of print job or just last 30 seconds charted would be sweet

Since extrusion is rarely consistent over a full second on prints of common complexity due to curves, corners, layer changes, overhangs, bridges, infill, inner walls, and outer walls running at various speeds, showing you a sample of what flow was maybe one second ago seems of very little use to me.

The only time it would be useful to me is when I try to determine the max flow of filament at a given temperature whichextrus is part of a tuning routine, where a realtime display also is not super helpful since you can play it by ear/eye it with a simple visual flag on your filament feeder showing when skips start to happen.

I tend to look at the volumetric flow preview in Cura to ensure I didn't configure anything stupid, since if I were to see it while something prints its usually already too late. That could have some improvements (like "show extrusion rate where I point with the mouse") though ...

@adamfilip Given the variability of the volumetric flow rate, even within a single move (due to factors such as acceleration and deceleration) what would you do with the information? How would it be useful?

Yes for me it's max flow calibration of each new filament (avoid manual calculation). Sometimes too much monitoring is too much but love to see parameters flowing during print 🙂

I want to bump up this thread, since I'm tinkering with a toolchanger and want to optimize print settings for different nozzle sizes.
I also saw that PrusaSlicer (and surely others too) changes extrusion width often.
It's mentioned as a comment in the gcode file.

Q: would it be possible to see the current extrusion width in the object model? Or extract it somehow?
