@owling2005 sounds like you trapped the wifi antenna and ripped it off during turning the machine off.

Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

@jay_s_uk i made sure it was free it was just the weight of the cable cause I couldn't disconnect it because of its poor placement

The "weight of the cable" would not have caused all these scratches and smash marks on the ESP shield/housing:

These WiFi cables can weight quite a lot - especially if the router is more than a scratch (or two) away 😎

the scrathces happened after the fact as I was thinning cables for the pins for the connector and a blob of solder fell on there I do have a possible friend able to possible desolder the board but if we do that I'll go ethernet as the wifi was patchy at best board would restart but wifi would fail to connect

@owling2005 Unfortunately, damage like this is not covered by the warranty. See https://www.duet3d.com/page/warranty-policy

I initially thought that there's a hole through the board, but I think it is actually just the pad has been ripped off. Unfortunately, the missing pad is the contact for the pin. See page 19 of https://www.espressif.com/sites/default/files/documentation/esp-wroom-02u_esp-wroom-02d_datasheet_en.pdf
Probably the easiest repair is to replace the ESP module. They are £2.59 on Digikey: https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/espressif-systems/ESP-WROOM-02U-N2/9381715

Edit: The Duet Mini 5+ WiFi PCB is different from the Ethernet version; you can't replace the WiFi module with an Ethernet module.

Ah, sorry, I was looking at my Mini 5+ and forgot you had a Duet 2! It's the same ESP module on both, though. And you're right, you can change a Duet 2 WiFi to a Duet 2 Ethernet.
