@chiefchamberlain If you wouldn't have said klipper, I would have said smart effector (-: I don't know if klipper supports the smart effector when running it on a Duet board.

@oliof The Smart Effector can work with Klipper, I installed this firmware on my Predator for a few months to test it but I rolled back to RRF during be beta of 3.4 for Input Shaping.

I don't think it's possible to adjust the sensibility.

That's been solved by now. It's merged in the latest Klipper.

@bberger Thanks for sharing the info!
I might try again Klipper on one of my Deltas.

              Hi!

I just bought a used FLSUN SR, as I have not enough time to work on my CoreXY (this will be for later), and I always wanted to try a Delta 😉

I plan to replace the electronic with a Duet 3 Mini 5+, and put a direct-drive extruder.

Did anyone already make such changes? Any advice?

              Thanks,

              Frédéric

IIRC the SR has a nice tethered display. I hope you can preserve it with the new controller.

@zapta Yes, it would be nice!

But I guess it would require some custom code on the Duet? Or maybe add some in-between electronic, to convert datas...

@fma depends on the way the display connects to the main board. If it is doing serial, it might be possible to port the (last working well with RRF) firmware of the BTT touch screens, if not you may need to do that from scratch /-:

Alternately, re-use the cable to connect a PanelDue. Making a compatible display case is relatively straightforward.

                        Hi!

So, I used my stock FLSUN SR for several months, and it's now time to switch to Duet3/RRF!

I would also like to replace the Bowden extruder by a direct one. Do you have any suggestions? At the same time, I plan to mount a Smart Effector: do you confirm it is compatible with the SR? The arms balls do not seem to be maintained in the same way...

                        Thanks,

                        Frédéric

@fma Yes it can be done.
I should still have the adapter I've made to install the smart effector using the stock rods, I did not used it a lot as I switch to a magball setup shortly after - I will dig in my older files and publish it.

You can install a direct drive on the smart effector, depending on the extruder you might be able to find an adapter (I remember seeing some for the Sherpa and Orbiter on thingiverse - there is a few post in the forum as well) - That said, in my opinion, a direct drive on a Delta not the best setup because it adds a lot of weight - I prefer a flying extruder.

@Fred-Y Thanks, I'm interested by your adapter, if you can find it...

About the flying extruder, I did consider it, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as a direct-drive.
