Error - Incompatible software version
-
6HC, Pi5 new installation. Current FW 3.5.3. At boot I get this message in DWC that reads "the installed software versions do not match. Please operate your setup only at equal versions to avoid potential incompatibilities and unexpected errors."
Everything appears to be functioning correctly except sending M997 S2 fails to update to 3.5.4. The update initiates but after several minutes the screen goes dark and the Pi is cool to the touch with red indicator light. All leds on Duet are normal. A reboot results in same error message and still on 3.5.3.
Not sure if its related but if I type a simple gcode program for a motion test in Text Editor that file is not visible when attempting to "upload and start" in DWC. I've done this numerous times on a Windows PC/D2. I can copy the contents of the file and paste into command line in DWC and it will run. -
@3DPMicro try clearing the browser cache first. Then if that doesn't work, look at the settings page and post here the software versions it reports

@jay_s_uk cleared browser cache and all caches on Pi. Same result
Not sure what settings page you're referring to but this is the Pi-

That did it. Thanks for the help gents. If I would have read the 6hc/sbc documentation carefully enough I should have picked that up.
Not a necessity but it would still be nice to know why a text file writen on the Pi isn't recognized by DWC upload and start. -
To anyone in the future that is creating files, like hand typed gcode in "text editor" on their Pi and can not figure out why DWC "upload and start" won't recognize the file its because the file name needs to end with .txt (or .gcode, etc). The Pi text editor doesn't have a file extension by default. A bit of a doh moment for me when it slapped me in the face
