Thanks for posting your config.g file and the model of your motor. You want to see it to no more than 1.45A.

That error normally relates to a wire being disconnected or not properly connected. As DC42 suggested try the known working X-Axis wire with either the Y or Z-Axis motor.

If that fails try plugging the known working X-Axis wire AND motor into the Y-Axis or Z-Axis port.

So I've unplugged every wire on the motherboard, tested everything on another motherboard including all the wires for steppers and the steppers that I've been using. They all work there. Now I plug one motor into the duet (currently working with z motors) and nothing happens. Have tried every combination of pin connection and everything ugh.
I'm just pulling my hair out at this point im so confused.

What have I done wrong?!

I already made a suggestion to try to pin down the problem, but you appear to have ignored it.

@dc42 have tried that i get the same error for connection sorry I didn't reply to it so that's with putting the x axis motor on another axis.

I was just doing what you then later said but I tested all the hardware to see if it worked first

@ryan-lock thanks for the advice. I have tried moving around the x axis motor to other ports, with and without the same wire. And using that working X wire on other motors. Still the same errors unfortunately. Even got some new wires and the same issue

Let's start with getting the X motor working when it is connected to the Y motor output. Please add the following command to the start of config.g:

M584 X1 Y0

That will swap the X and Y motor outputs over. Also connect the X motor to the Y motor output, and vice versa. Then try moving X and Y again. If the X motor (connected to the Y motor output) moves correctly when you command X movement, but the Y motor (connected to the X motor output) doesn't, then it is a configuration problem. If the X motor stops working but the Y motor starts working, then it is a problem with the Y driver.

@dc42 so new board, new problems.

I cant seem to get the end stops to now work.
motors are moving fine but the end stops aren't doing their bit.

have a 2 wire endstop so ive wired them on both ends of the endstop. (light starts off as red and then when the stops are engaged turns off) . have tried both X1 Y1 and X0 Y0 and the current code also on my endstop in config.g

also i have an E3d hot end and am a bit confused about using the pt1000 amps? ive connected them currently straight to the duet but temps are like 2000c.

@magdi right i have made stuff do things.

problem now is when i press to 'home y' it homes y a little and also homes x.
so both axis move not just one. But then they also dont move all of the way to homing. hopefully that makes sense.

do you mean pt100?

did you configure the m305 correctly?

heres what i have atm but in all honesty im not sure what to configure here.

M305 P0 T100000 B4138 R4700 ; Set thermistor + ADC parameters for heater 0

none of those are for pt100 or pt1000 thermistors

check the configurator for the sensor channel to set it correctly

@veti i have tried it and still cant connect the bloody thing. so ive found the daugherboard connection point on the duet. that has 10 pins. i only have 4 wires (dual extruders' with two sets of black and red wires connected together) I just dont know where to put the bloody things. the images on the page you supplied are not very helpful and i cant crack the schematic. i think im just being stupid.
