How to wait for bed to heat up?
-
I have a heat bed that's an aluminum bed with a borosilicate glass bed on top. It works great but the thermistor is under the aluminum bed and so it hits temperature way before the glass bed has heated up (about 4 minutes).
What's the right way to have my printer wait for the bed to heat up? I'm fine with a 4 minute delay between bed/extruder but don't know how to do that.
I'm using Simplify3d as the slicer and I'd rather not have to hand-edit the produced gcode files. I know I could just manually place a wait after the bed temp command.
Thanks.

@markz you could put a
G4 S240
In your start gcode from your slicer. That would put a 4 min delay in

Won't that keep the hot end cooking for 4 minutes with no filament? That seems like a bad thing to me but maybe it isn't?

Then heat up the hotend after the wait for the bed to come to temperature.

Could you inject "G4 S240" after the bed temperature is commanded, but before the hotend temperature command is read?
M140 S110
M190 S110 ;wait for bed temp
G4 S240 ;wait 4mins to heat bed fully before activating T0
M104 S240 T0
M109 S240 T0
