      Dear

I have updated the firmware today

I have notices that the tool change stoped working like it use to

what is happening is as follow

when I set tool 0 to active it will go and get tool 0
when I set tool 0 to standby it will bing tool 0 back

when I set tool1 to active I will start the script but stop in the middle
if I go from tool 0 to tool 1 it will keep tool 0 active then stop the scrip in the middle of piking up tool1

not sure if what I say is understandable

In the hope to get some feed back

this issue render my dual tool setup non functional

      Best Regards
      Manuel Topiol

Can you post your tool change macros please, I will try and recreate the issue.

What version of the firmware did you upgrade from?

Hi again i restored the old firmware and it worked like it use to there is definitively something that changed in the 1.19.2 after selecting tool1, tool0 is the active one

            some help would be appreciated

            also something I have noticed
in 1.18.2 it was not necessary to add the channel for bed heating if it was connected to a thermistor in 1.19.2 if a don't add the channel it will display 2000 instead of the temperature

            Best regards
            Manuel

It is documented in the upgrade notes that 1.19 series firmware needs a M305 command for every temperature sensor in use. But you should not need to include the channel in that command, because each heater channel defaults to using its own thermistor.

What sort of printer do you have: a simple dual nozzle printer, IDEX, or something else?

Few people use the tpre files. When tpre is run, no tool is selected, which limits what you can do in them. Most people use just tfree and tpost files.

                Dear dc42

I always had a m305 for the sensors , just I noticed after the update the bed temperature was 2000 i checked the cabling and other , after some time I just added the channel and it started working again.

The printer I have is a ultimate clone that I have build and milled my self ,
                HW
magnetic tool change with 2 heads and 2 parking spaces
                stepper 0.9 ,
                all moving parts from Misumi
                e3d and titans
                duetwifi and dc42 ir prob

the issue at hand is not located in the tfree and or tpre or tpost

I get the same problem when i do the tool change from the slicer extruder start / extruder end or even manually just by clicking on the tool in the duetwifi web interface changing from standby to active from tool0 to tool1

this issue is not happening on the 1.18.2

                Thanks and best regards

I am not at home this weekend, I will try and have a look early in the week. I have an idex machine which is not the same but i might be able to work it out.

Am I correct in understanding that the issue is not the movement in any of the tool change macros? The moves to park and pickup the new head work correctly the only issue is when you select T1, T0 remains activated in firmware?

Hi, I have tested tool changes using an IDEX machine with the following setup:
                            Firmware Version: 1.19.2 (2017-09-01)
                            WiFi Server Version: 1.19.2
                            Web Interface Version: 1.19

Using your Tpre,Tfree files, modified only slightly so they do not crash the heads on my IDEX, i can't reproduce the problem.

Starting with T0 selected, I enter T1, the movements associated with Tfree0 occur, then the ones in Tpre1. With T1 selected I enter T0, the movements associated with Tfree1 occure, the Tpre0.
The selected hotend (as shown in DWC) changes as commanded.

Things I am doing differently from you:

                            1. Using an Idex printer so X mapping is different from T0 and T1
                            2. Homing in my Tpre/TFree files to protect the two heads from crashing.

So from where could this problem come from ?
I am out of idea , and I can't understand why with 1.18.2 it's working and not with 1.19.2 ,I changed nothing to my setup 😞

                                  Thanks for the reply

The problem is not associated with movements generated by the tpost tpre and three, the problem is with the tool active and standby

Let's say when I start the printer I home x y and z then I click on tool0 it goes and collects tool0 no problem there ,the tool is loaded and active

When I click again on tool0 it goes to unload and parks the tool0 and put the tool in standby

Now when I go and click on tool1 it goes as expected loading tool1 but after it has collected tool1 it puts tool1 in standby and tool0 as active but the tool1 is still loaded

The result is the same for the 3 test I have made , 1 just by clicking on the web use interface, 2 by sending gcode to the printer , or 3 adding gcode in the slicer to deal with the tool changed , there is no scenario where I can keep my tool1 active

it is definitively something to do with the firmware

So from where could this problem come from ?
I am out of idea , and I can't understand why with 1.18.2 it's working and not with 1.19.2 ,I changed nothing to my setup 😞

                                          Dear dc42 & t3p3tony

Did u have any chance to check on my issue , I am still Struggling with it , I can confirme that the issue is not related with the tfree tpre and tpost , if I disabled them and do the tool change movements via the slicer I get the same result the wrong tool is active when I switch to tool1

In the hope of hearing from you

                                          Best regards
