Which bin file exactly did you use?

@thedragonlord How did you install the firmware on the panelDue? If you had to use a USB connection is there any chance you may have moved the board within the case, when hooking it up? I know you said that you did not think the case was pressing on the screen, but it is very easy to do this without realising it. I had a similar problem and it turned out to be pressure on the flex cable connecting the touch part of the screen.

I've installed via DWC

this file: PanelDueFirmware-3.3.0-5.0i-7.0i.bin took from this page: https://github.com/Duet3D/PanelDueFirmware/releases/tag/3.3.0

Does the setup tab on the PanelDue show the firmware version long enough for you to see it? Did 3.3 apply successfully? You need a fairly recent version on the paneldue in order for the updates to work via DWC.
Might be worth trying to reflash the panel via USB and bossa just to be certain.

Yes, it shows Panel Due firmware version 3.3.0-rc4

@TheDragonLord thanks for reporting the problem. This sounds really strange.
Please re-calibrate your panel. To me it looks like there are touch events released eventually by the housing. So re-calibration eventually will fix it.

already done twice with no effects...

@TheDragonLord ok, good to know calibration doesn't help.
- downgrading to 1.24 fixes your problem?
- downgrading to 3.2.11 fixes your problem?

Couldn't there be problems downgrading the PanelDue firmware and leaving the board's firmware at the latest stable release? Honestly I didn't want to keep on going back and forth with the firmwares....

yes, there can be problems, like loosing your PD's configuration. Or completely failing communication with RRF. But then an upgrade should fix it again.
Honestly I didn't want to keep on going back and forth with the firmwares....
If i shall help you we need to cooperate and try to gather more information.
I don't see a reason why your device is failing. No other user complained so far.

ok, if no one else has experienced the issue it means that the problem is related only to my hardware in some way... as I told I don't think the problem could be the case because the display is in place from more than a year but I'll try to reposition it... I only hope it's not something related to the PanelDUE hardware...

.resetting the Panel2 as well restarting the printer has no effetcs....this doesn't happen any time but about the 90% of the times....is it a known issue? In ca
That happened to me once, it was the case not the software causing it. Check that there is no pressure on the display.
-
Following you precious help I'm starting to realize that 99% it's my hardware "configuration" fault so I think you can mark the topic as "SOLVED"....In a week I'll try to reconfiure the display placeing in case and I'll see..
Thanks to everyone for helping

@TheDragonLord BTW 3.3.0-rc4 is an outdated version of Paneldue Firmware. Please use 3.3.0 for any further tests.
