    My head and extruder STOP functioning when its going to print

      So whats happening is everytime I send something to 3D print the head position itself to start printing and then it just stop as well as the extruder. I have tried everything like resetting the parameters etc.. I will share my parameters below.

      I am not sure what's stopping the printer to move forward on doing the first layer and continuing to print.

        @JlunaMX what firmware version are you running?
        Can you post a sample gcode?

        Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

          @JlunaMX You don't seem to be setting the motor current for your drivers with M906. What sort of drivers are you using? Also your comment on the M201 is rather odd. What sort of printer is this it seems to have very low steps/mm for X and Y?

              Yes, I understand. I was discussing with @Phaedrux (long time ago), and we agreed that the current steps per millimeter setting is correct. Oddly enough, when I use the calculated number, it results in inaccurate prints, which is unusual for this printer, but it seems to work fine as is. I've successfully printed several parts, including some for actual use.

              On a different note, I encountered an issue after updating the firmware on the Duet controller. Now, the printer only performs the homing process and doesn’t move at all when I try to start a print.

                @JlunaMX You didn't reply to my points about not setting motor current. You do not have an M906 in your config, you do have this line:

                M201 X700 Y700 Z20.00 E500.00 ; set motor currents (mA) and motor idle factor in per cent
                

                But M201 sets acceleration not motor current. Maybe that is causing some of your problems. What control board are you using? It seems odd that you are using drivers 5, 6, 7 and 8.

                  And I am using 5,6,7 and 8 because I am using an expansion board.

                      @JlunaMX @gloomyandy judging by this thread https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/32299/using-close-loop-encoder-for-nema-23 are you using the Duet EBoB (External Breakout Board) and external drivers? If so, you don't need to set M906 for those, as motor current is controlled by the external drivers.

                      Can you remember what version you were running previously, and what version are you running now? Send M115 and post the response.
