  • RE: Duet 3 6HC not communicating

    @Phaedrux

    Hi, I tried the USB Hub but that doesn't provide constant power so the board doesn't have enough voltage to turn on.

    Is there something I'm missing in how to set it up on device manager as on windows 11 the bossa port doesn't come standard. I have added it to the list but it still is never appearing with all of the combinations already carried out.

    Also I know i have the Duet Driver as mentioned in the link further up as i have used this laptop before to communicate to plugged in duets but i wanted to confirm i had the most up to date one. I cannot find a download for it?

    Anyone have any further suggestions i can do?

    @droftarts said in Duet 3 6HC not communicating:

    @JimmyEvo3D It sounds like the USB port is not working, though it is getting power through it. Can you take a closeup picture of the PCB connections behind the USB port, and post it here? Is the Raspberry Pi acting as an SBC (ie connected to the 26-pin SBC header with a ribbon cable) or just connected by USB?
    Please can you also try connecting after removing the SD card. Also check if the Reset switch is stuck in (though I wouldn't expect the Diag light to flash if this was the case).

    Hi Ian, the Pi is acting as an SBC correct and is connected through the SBC ribbon. I don't have a reset button I believe? I think my model I have to connect the two pins together with a jumper. Here is the photo of the pins into the USB

    @dc42 The USB Power light is illuminated which is in the photo above. As for cables I have used two different USB-C cables and the two different USB ports on my laptop. Once my colleague is available I will try it on his desktop instead to see how that goes.

    Thank you for answering. I will check both of what you've said and come back with an update.

  • Duet 3 6HC not communicating

    Hi All,

    We ordered 2x Duet 3 6HC's from E3D here in the UK in on 24/04/23.

    We fitted the first one into our Custom built control panel, powered on okay but no communication to our raspberry Pi 4 Model B.

    I have since swapped to the second board in our order and that is working fine.

    I have plugged the board into my laptop and I don't get the usual pop up to notify me I've plugged in a Duet.

    Following the https://docs.duet3d.com/User_manual/Troubleshooting/Duet_wont_respond page.

    I confirmed the lights whilst it was plugged into my PC, 5V LED, 3.3V LED, The Diag light was flashing on & half. The board doesn't appear in the bottom right and I don't find it in the "Ports Com and LPT" in device manager.

    I have since done a Erase of the firmware following the instructions provided, confirmed no firmware via the diag Light glowing.

    Then plugging back into my computer I do not see it in the device manager under Bossa port.

    I contacted E3D support but they have said to come here and ask. What should I do next?

  • RE: Duet 3HC SCH file compatibility

    @T3P3Tony

    Just tried the 3HC board sch file and I believe you are correct that it wants a different format as got the same error as before.

    I will try a different approach, thanks for the help.

  • RE: Duet 3HC SCH file compatibility

    @T3P3Tony

    Sorry I should of specified that its the 6HC Mainboard and 3HC expansion that I was struggling with. I will try the 3HC one again as I hadn't seen that file on it's own, just the PDF variants.

    The 6HC only has a PDF format saved in its v1.02 folder unlike the 3HC.

    Thanks for replying so quickly Tony!

  • Duet 3HC SCH file compatibility

    Hey Everyone,

    I am trying to import the schematic files into fusion 360 so that it can linked to our current wiring diagrams.

    Because the Schematic files are saved as a .pdf I am struggling to get them to load in. Is there any possibility that the files could be shared in a pure .sch format?

    Any help or links would be amazing
