    • RE: Delta Printer Nozzle height

      @dc42:

      @Billhc83:

      This is meant to be manually done once delta calibration is finished.

      Jog the head to the bed until it just grabs a piece of regular paper. Send g92 z0 via pronterface or DWC. Upload and print. I only do this once when I start the machine.

      It should not be necessary to set the height manually using G92, unless the Z probe is not giving consistent results.

      I agree but I find lighting at different times of the day can affect the reading slightly. It is just easier for me to eliminate the variable. Although with the baby step function small variances are easily fixed now

    • RE: Delta Printer Nozzle height

      I pretty much always use autocalibration then use a piece paper to set my g92 z0 nozzle height. Perfect first layer every time but takes an extra minute when I start up. That way I don't have to worry about it after that.

    • RE: Perimeter separation

      This is a bit exaggerated I have pulled the perimeters away from the object in the photo. I have no way of measuring the orifice of the nozzle, but there is a chance it is not 0.3 I suppose. I cut the wall off the object and it measures 0.3 with calipers, I have not changed extrusion multiplier settings. I would prefer to change other settings rather than the multiplier setting. I am thinking I should try a smaller nozzle width? At first glance of the objects you would not even see that they are separated but after running a finger across the perimeter you can feel that is is not fully adhered. I am using 220*C for PLA,

    • Perimeter separation

      I am having trouble with my outside perimeter having a very small gap. It is not present in all prints. Of anyone has any tips it would be appreciated. I have tried multiple slicers with the same results. .3 nozzle with 3 perimeters. When the print finishes it looks perfect other than the outside perimeter is not always joined to the print.

    • RE: Nozzle recomendation

      I just meant for day to day printing i find that combination good. Sometimes models would be better suited with a bigger or smaller nozzle or a different layer height. I just meant I find it a good general purpose combination. I'm not trying to mass produce anything so I'm not to upset with the longer print times at 0.2 layer height.

    • RE: Nozzle recomendation

      I use 0.3 nozzle on my delta with a e3dv6
      .2 layer height most of the time. I'm happy with it most of the time…

    • RE: Why don't you use Cura slicer?

      @T3P3Tony:

      One point to add is that you can really improve the usability of cura with big/lots of models if you turn off the auto slicing of models. that way you can sort out the build plate move things, rotate etc and then slice the model.

      Thanks for the info. I will have to revisit a newer version again and try this.

    • RE: Why don't you use Cura slicer?

      I used older versions (and still do) I do not like the new interface i find it confusing i guess. There are some settings i feel could use a better (more specific maybe) description of what they do. It will also do stupid things when slicing sometimes. For example small circles (3mm dia) it will revisit the perimeter of these circles 3 times (3 shell) when it really should do the whole 3 at once because these small circles sometimes have a problem adhering when you do multiple passes on the first layer.

      I would check your connections thoroughly. If you not getting blinking lights when it is powered up you are likely not getting power at the board.

    • RE: How calibrate axes in a delta printer?

      Could you be more specific about the size of error in x and y. There are many things that can contribute to this on a delta. Knowing the size of each error would be helpful…..I would go through the entire printer again with a measuring instrument. Making sure everything is exactly the same. Or as close to it as you can get.

    • RE: Scara Setup

      Just wanted to thank you again for helping with this David. I was able to get things dialed in fairly well using M579 to scale the y axis by 1.06. Further testing needed but I have confidence that this will work for me. Cross talk seems to be working with a value of -1, anything too far away from -1 get out whack? I have test printed (with a pen) a number of cubes rectangles and other shapes and designs with good results. Thanks again.

    • RE: Scara Setup

      I knew that was not clear enough question. If I were to command it to move to a coordinate that would require the use of the opposite distal/proximal arm angle should it switch. Also should I be able to manually command it to go to positions past the min radius.

    • RE: Scara Setup

      Installed new firmware this is results of M114 which is now right.

      8:47:37 PM
      M114
      X:-89.163 Y:-128.423 Z:0.000 E0:0.0 E1:0.0 E2:0.0 E3:0.0 E4:0.0 E5:0.0 E6:0.0 E7:0.0 E8:0.0 Count -5695 -8092 0 User -89.2 -128.4 0.0

      Homing then rotating back to 0 angle results in x211.8 y0 which is right. Sometimes says y0.1 ?

      OK David very good. I am able to send coordinates that make sense and it draws lines that are close to accurate. Can I expect the robot to change arm positions when just sending g1 commands or will it only work when running files?

      There is a point where the crosstalk parameter starts to cause erratic movement. I will wait till I try your new release for further testing.
