RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@droftarts
Fair enough I must have missed that. I still think an extra note would be helpful but I accept that all the information was there and I just didn't read it carefully enough. -
RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk not currently. I have an IR probe to fit but it's currently not configured or connected ass I don't have a mount for it currently

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@deamonata So I just checked my cura settings I'm guessing that having my gcode flavour setting as Marlin is probably not right. so I'll correct that but could that be causing this behaviour?

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk all the way through printing, I'm not 100% sure on a pattern but looking at a test print I did it looks like they tended to happen on 90degree turns.

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk I used the config tool and uploaded a new file and then restarted the mainboard and initially it all seemed to work, but then I powercycled it and then rebooted it and then I had the problem.
I didn't edit anything else though.
It all seems to be working again now though.
Only thing to figure out now is the random pauses but I'll try having a bit of a play on my own, and gather more information, unless there are any obvious things to check that you already know of.

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk Thats the issue config.g appears to be missing when I plug the SD card in to my laptop. Assuming that it should be in sys/

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@deamonata Maybe I spoke too soon. I just powercycled it after uploading the new config and now it's dead. It's not talking to the PanelDue again and now it doesn't connect on the web interface either. The status light is still blinking correctly and the most of the LEDs look right too, however the ESP32 light is off now.
My config.g is now:

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
Excellent. I couldn't find my crimps to change over the wires to the 5 pin connector rightn now But I redid the config anyway and it now works it might be worth adding a note about this to here, as you might notice if you're using the 4wire connector but if you are using the ribbon cable it is an easy thing to do.
-
RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk I was just about to try this and check the documentation to see where to connect it to and noticed it wanted to connect to IO0. Are the same pins also used on the ribbon cable as I currently have IO0 configured as on of my endstops.
Could that be the issue?
Obviously I'll need to change the config for the 4 wire option but if it's the same signals on both connectors that that could be the issue.

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@jay_s_uk I'm using the ribbon cable that was supplied with the PanelDue. I can try the 4 wire though if that might be the issue.

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@T3P3Tony That was what I thought you meant.
I'm aware of the error in the G-code I'm going to look into that but I suspect it's not the issue in question.
sorry for the poor quality of the photo

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@T3P3Tony yes it still shows "connecting" across the top. The console shows various messages from the Duet (such as a message when it finshed printing) but nothing that indicates an issue with the panelDue.
-
RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
I have updated using the zipfile so hopefully everything should be correct now. the WiFI Server verion is reporting as 1.27 however I'm still getting the same issue the panelDue.
Changing to relative extrusion fixed the other issue though and prints now complete sucessfully although I'm still seeing the random pauses during the printing which does seem to have caused a few issues with blobs
-
RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
I updated using the config tool (the tick boxes at the end).
To update the wifi module do I just need to upload the "DuetWiFiModule_32S3.bin" file, will it auto detect just that or will i need to issue M997 or something else?
-
RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
Hey So I have updated it, and the PanelDue is displaying that it's on 3.4.1 now, but it's still not connecting. It looks to be getting messages from the Duet now as I did a few cycles and it is getting the WiFi information everytime, but I still have the "connecting" banner and cant control anything.
I also double checked the baudrate and that looks to be fine too
Edit: I just tried again, this time I got a loads of messages saying "Error: Wifi Module reported: Network scan error" which is a bit strange as whilsts thous messages are being printed (we're at about 3 minutes worth of messages now) I'm connected to the web interface perfectly fine.

RE: Brand new duet 3 mini, 2 issues
@OwenD
I believe I already have upgraded to 3.4.5However I just checked the PanelDue and it claims it's on 1.24? is that the right number or am I comparing the wrong two numbers as that seems very out of date as it looks like the latest is 3.4.1. This might be the issue, but I thought id check if there is anything I need to be aware of updating from such an old version?
