@droftarts I think I found something..I noticed that when I connect via YAT I get a lot of temperature readings (since I have a tool with 4 temperature sensors and one of the changes I made was that it will load up with temperature 215 and not 0).
When I sent M552 S1 P192.168.2.3 I usually didn't get the response that it was set after 30 seconds..instead I kept seeing these temperature readings.
When I reverted the tool temperature back to 0, the problem seemed to be resolved..any ideas how to set the temperature and not have connectivity issues?
@droftarts I tried to manually set the IP address to a different one though YAT - this time it worked and I could get connected.
It seems like either config.g is not loading correctly or there's something wrong with the IP address i'm trying to set (though it worked fine for months)
I didn't mention - I'm on a direct connection between the computer and the DUET, no router in-between (though the computer is connected to Wifi).
Regarding lights on the ethernet port - you mean on the DUET? should they light up even when the cable is disconnected? Because it's very hard to see them with the cable connected.

I'm having issues connecting to DUET 3 over ethernet. Everything was working OK for a while, I made a lot of changes to the config files and one time after resetting I just couldn't connect anymore.
I tried connecting via USB and YAT to check the ethernet - I sent M552 S1 and got that everything is OK, configured IP address 192.168.2.3 actual IP address 0.0.0.0 (not sure if this is OK)..
Tried resetting the network and nothing worked..I took the SD card and changed the config.g to what it was before I resetted the board this time, and now it connected.
I thought I solved it but today I turned on the machine again and it didn't connect. Check via USB and YAT - same as before. Tried changing the config.g file again (though I didn't make changes since it worked last time) - didn't help..

Any ideas? I'm guessing something in the configuration is wrong with the first extruder being driven by an external driver and the second extruder being driven by the on-board driver - but I can't seem to figure it out..
Hi,
I have a machine set up with an extruder driven from an external driver, using the 1XD board.
I would like to add a second extruder motor to create a mixing extruder. The second extruder motor is currently driven from the Duet 3 board (Driver 0.4).
I can't seem to get the second extruder to move (when I define it as an extruder, but when I defined as a regular drive it did move).
I tried creating two tools - T1 is the mixing extruder, T2 is just the new extruder motor for testing.
When I select T1 and send a G1 E command - the external driven extruder turns, but the new extruder doesnt.
I tried selecting T2, but this doens't make the new extruder move either.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the configuration of an external drive together with an internal drive?

Came back to update that the issue has somehow resolved itself
The original 1XD board is working as normal..my best guess is that it had something to do with electrical noises..I have a few meters of cables going together in cable carriers, I took some out and tried a different path..maybe it did the trick.

@dc42 I didn't see any errors, the only thing I can notice is the STATUS LED on the 1XD stops blinking, and then if I send M122 B40 it returns error.
The machine wasn't printing - the steppers including the external stepper were enabled.
I tried again with steppers enabled and external stepper driver disconnected from the main power - still either got errors when I tried M122 B40 or saw that "last reset cause - reset button" and not "power-up", meaning it rested on it's own after I turned everything on.

The CAN termination jumpers are fitted on the board, this is the only expansion board.

@chrishamm I just checked the fuse and the power in for the 1XD, seems OK.
The LED 5V & VIN LED on the 1XD are on all the time.
I pushed the CAN jack in and out and then the STATUS LED started blinking in sync..after 30 seconds it just stopped. I tried pushing the jack in and out again and this time nothing happened..LED 5V & VIN LED stayed ON the whole time..very inconsistent behavior..

I have a Duet 3 6HC main board connected to a 1XD expansion board that runs an external stepper driver.
Everything was working OK until yesterday I noticed that sometimes when I send a command to the external stepper, nothing happens.
I noticed that the LED STATUS on the 1XD doesn't blink - in normal operation it blinked in sync with the LED on the main board, as it's supposed to.
I tried a lot of things but my assumption at the moment is that the 1XD expansion board is damaged (maybe some moisture has gotten to it as the contacts on the CAN ports seemed to be a little green, but that's just a guess).
Without any obvious reason, it will start blinking again and then communication will be OK (tested through M122, when the status LED is blinking, M122 returns all good. When it's not blinking it returns CAN error not connected).
I tried fiddling around with the connections (power + CAN), sometimes it seems to do something, sometimes it doesn't. Tried replacing CAN cable, didn't help. Anyway even after I get communication it seems that it will just stop after a few minutes (status LED off) regardless of what I do.
I tried cleaning the entire PCB with contact cleaner, didn't change anything.
I've already ordered a new 1XD express from E3D but until it gets here I want to make sure that it is the problem. I'm worried it might be the main board or something else..Any ideas on how to better diagnose this problem?
The other functions for the main board (on-board steppers, limits switches, outputs to relays) all seem to work OK.
One other thing that I started noticing - when I send "M98 config.g" it seems that the board has a secondary power outage, most noticeable by the always-on fans going to 100% and than returning to the usual 30% set in config.g..I'm not sure if this was happening before the issue with the 1XD..is this normal behavior for sending M98?
The M98 returns all OK, other than the messages about CAN connection whenever the 1XD status LED is not blinking.
Any help would be appreciated..

When I dont add "!" it seems like the endstop is activated when it's not (checking with M119). After I added the "!" behavior seems to correspond with the actual situation.
This is a linear actuator thus the slow values. It does move manually
Hi,
I've added a U axis with a limit switch at the low end. Everything works OK if I disable homing - I test the endstop triggers with M119 and I can see that it triggers when necessary.
However when I try to home, I can hear the U motor enabling but it doesn't move, and than it appears to be homed, regardless of whether the endstop was triggered or not.

I tried G1 H2 U-70, then it does move but doesn't stop when the endstop is triggered.
