@jasonpgr said in Extruder control grayed out:

      is that correct?

Correct, assuming that your first defined extruder drive is intended to be used with T0

right after I posted this I figured it out. I kept switching M574 to Y2 and expecting that to somehow change the homing files. Which is dumb. I flipped that, gave a positive Y value in the homing files and it seems to work! Time to try out the first print on this thing in almost a year.

In the endstop dropdown for the Z axis, choose nothing. You'll define the Z probe in the endstops page.

In the Z-Probe section you would choose zprobe.in as the input pin for the bltouch that takes the trigger signal. And the PWM control pin that you want to use for servo control to raise and lower the pin. Usually Heater3 on the expansion header. As you've described.

Then on the endstops page you choose bltouch as the probe and probe for the z axis.

Probe configuration is a bit disorganized in the current version of the tool. It really should have it's own tab with all of the relevant settings there I think. It's complicated though because there are many different kinds of probes that require very different ways of wiring and configuration.

Sooooo I'm super dumb. I finally got around to trying to troubleshoot this problem again, and it looks like the cat had chewed through one of the wires going to one of the Z stepper motors..... Soooooo all that frustration took 30 seconds and one drop of solder to fix. At least I have an upgraded set of firmware at least I guess.

That's good. Don't stop at 2.0 though. Upgrade to at least 2.05.1 as described above. Then if everything is working you can consider updating to RRF3.

That did the trick, thanks so much! Pulling that fuse out was a bitch since it was in there so toght, but it did finally come loose and I swapped it out. Fans are cruising along now. Thanks again!

@jasonpgr Great. Looks like you can now mark this as solved.
