    • RE: Fans vs Berd-Air

      If you don't want the noise associated with an air cooling pump, there is an alternative that combines the benefits of an air pump without the noise, called the tusk air cooling. @mhackney has created good information on this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2445660 http://www.sublimelayers.com/2017/03/the-tusk-fan-shroud.html

      I'm running a brushless air pump I sourced on aliexpress that came with silencer mufflers, as the the 'berd-air' pumps are brushed motors.

      A disadvantage with both the brushed and brushless motors, is they get extremely hot, hot enough to where you can't even touch the motor for more than a second.

      @gavatron3000

      Thank you for being a backer. I noticed with the amazon sheets and Prusas is that the texture is pretty coarse; maybe that is part of the issue. I've had people using them since July without issue.

    • 0.36ยบ stepper motors

      Is it possible to use Oriental Motor 5 phase bipolar stepper motors, assuming I build or buy the correct driver for them with the Duet? These steppers are 1000 steps per rev.

      I guess specifically I should ask @dc42 what your opinion is on these motor specs for use in a 3D printer if they would be a good fit or not?

      They have tighter manufacturing precision than even 0.9ยบ and 0.72ยบ steppers, so they should have a more accurate non accumulative step accuracy. They could be driven at lower than 1/16th microstepping or even full steps if necessary.

      Thank you!

      Update: we are now offering sizes up to 350mm and have lowered the costs of rewards! We have streamlined the reward tiers to make it less cluttered. You can also buy just a flex-plate now, whereas before we required the purchase of two at a time. โ˜บ

      @klcjr89 hope it will succeed ๐Ÿ™‚

      Also - Can you share an image of how the underside of a print looks when it is printed on the surface? ๐Ÿ™‚

      Will this image suffice? ๐Ÿ™‚

      Here are two new images I took today. One shows the beautiful, uniform texture of the coating, and the other is a MK52 sheet I also made today.

      No plans for logo; it makes production much simpler and a more aesthetically pleasing product ๐Ÿ™‚
