Interesting, I had to replace a belt on the original predator and I thing it has more then a 1000 hours with a metal belt in 1 tower... No problems

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
Hello, I tried printing the parts yesterday (small parts usually work after some fiddling) and halfway a belt snapt, thats what you get after to much tensioning for more precision... But anyway, I changed all the belts to new ones with a metal core which I had as spare, tensioned the same and printed the small parts again, which went easy somehow. So I tried to print the big part to be sure. Perfect first layer without a mesh, just after a quick delta calibration.
No idea what was wrong with the other belts, could not find any problems on them and the were installed correcly and tried several amounts of tension over the last year.
I will install the new mounts for the arms anyway to remove the 0.5mm, but they do not couse the first layer issue.
Thanks a lot for al the help, It was a hardware foult afterall, altough I am still not sure what was wrong with them.
The support on the forum is great, really thanks a lot.
Should I close the thread somehow to show it is fixed? -

Thanks, I print those and try again

Haydn_Carriage_Adapter_Remix_v4.stl
This is what I used, I will try the stl file you send me, probebly the safest option to use the pcb's. Your second link goes to a tray, not sure what to do with that -
RE: Smart effector first layer issues
I am printing a 0.2mm first layer by the way and I do not know how much effect spacing between the balls has on the height,
-
RE: Smart effector first layer issues
I think ruling it out is the best plan, just not entirely sure if it will work if I just scale the printed parts a bit and hopefully end up exactly 0.5mm wider

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
It seems to be making the same mistake with or without mesh, I just tried a very fine mesh and without after with no succes
But maybe I have to fix the 0.5 mm in the spacing... -
RE: Smart effector first layer issues
Measured the spacing on the carriages and on the effector: Effector 64.6mm carriges 64.1mm
So there is room for improvement.. -

Germany
Failed again. The weird thing for me is that is is to close at one point, and to high 5mm further. It is so local that calibrition can hardly be a problem. Maybe I should go with an even finer mesh setting, but the original predator did not have a super fine mesh and had no problems at all....

I tried printing after this, no succes...
I will set the sensetivity back and try again -
RE: Smart effector first layer issues
I entered the values of the delta calibration in the config file, ran the macro and G29:

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
Ok. Done the macro again,
G32
Calibrated 6 factors using 16 points, (mean, deviation) before (1.067, 0.643) after (0.000, 0.063)
G29:

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
Added 2mm
Ran the macro and g29:
m672
Error: M672: No program bytes provided -
RE: Smart effector first layer issues
This should be a delta calibration issue I guess. Probably the delta radius or so

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
ALright, I followed the sequense discribed above, afterwards run a mesh compensation with similar result

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
Thanks a lot for the help so far, hopefully we will get there. I have to get going a little but, just keep posting, but I will try it later tonight or tomorrow. Thanks a lot!!

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
The new height map, I did not do a delta calibration, and the first layer did fail

RE: Smart effector first layer issues
During the delta calibration and mesh it goes much more gentle still, should that tap at the same speed?
