    • RE: slow fan

      @phaedrux It's at 12v....because the LEDs are 12v, but the rest of the system is 24v! Of course!

      I'll try fixing this tomorrow but I seem to remember there was some reason I had it wired up this way.

      EDIT: I remember, I blew some of the mosfets on the duet over the years so the duet fan headers don't work right, hence I used the deus. I really should fix this things properly someday

      I have a robo3d R1+. It's a mendel type machine. Does that help explain this any? Mesh leveling is absolute crap for me.

    • RE: inconsistent behavior - duet wifi on latest beta

      I've only had the files necessary for operation in the sys folder. I only ever notice config.g isn't there when I go to edit it. Sometimes I'll realize I forgot to do something after it goes to reboot the board, so I'll wait, then go back to system editor and see the file is gone.

      I don't know if this is relevant, but if I reload the page (like if it's on a tab and my mac has to reload the tab because I was doing lots of other things) the board will repeat the last few instructions sent to it. Even if it is printing, it will interrupt the print to home and calibrate. This happens every time on safari, and a little less frequently on firefox.

      Basically, once it's all dialed in, the board works great, but interacting with it in any way leads to unpredictable results. Still nowhere near as bad as octoprint though.

      Seems better now. Wow, that was simple.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @chrishamm on the bottom it says the first 10 pins are on gpiochip0. I switched it in DWC config but it just gave an error 22 this time, so I guess this isn't helping either.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @chrishamm said in SBC mode on non-pi's:

      echo 480 > /sys/class/gpio/unexport

      bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument

      My understanding is this has been depreciated so it might not work properly.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @chrishamm I'm getting an operation failed error. Failed to open IO device. Error 19. Cannot put line into event mode. I applied the settings you gave me. Seems there's something still amiss here.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      I considered attaching a flat magnet to a 3d printed shark fin and letting it cruise around the sand like that, adding felt to the bottom of the magnet to quiet it, but then the sand would need to be even deeper, etc. I think sand tables are beyond my skills. I still haven't planned out out to do designs yet. It's easier for a circle than a rectangle.

      any more probably needs to be moved to an off-topic discussion.

      link me there and we'll chat about it sometime. I'd love to be able to finish this thing.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @achrn You're the guy behind Sisyphus? I built a large rectangular coreXY coffee table that was inspired by that, but I never finished. At the moment, I just solved the ball not grabbing the magnet strong enough (by getting a magnetic ball) but now have a very loud dragging through the sand problem. I ended up adding WLED on the edges for lighting effects and used it as a college project.

      Sisyphus was so cool.

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @Phaedrux why does it have to be so powerful? it's just hosting a web server and streaming data to the control board. I would rather not use it in face but the uploads on wifi are unstable, slow, and only work if the card has few or zero jobs on it.

      edit: I have the pi4 set aside for tinkering with. The 2 and 3 are indeed shorting and the nanos are closer to the pi 2 in speed. The rock64 has a damaged power port and I don't want to hack up the gpio cable to feed it that way.

      So I found the le potato on amazon is available and has not been price gouged like the pis. Looks like that and Armbian will be my route. Thanks

    • RE: SBC mode on non-pi's

      @Phaedrux I have a rock64, a pair of old pcduino4nanos, a pi 2 and 3 (but I suspect they have shorts somewhere) and a pi 4 I'd rather not use for this.

    • SBC mode on non-pi's

      Does the SBC mode only work on raspberry pis? They are kind of hard to come by now and there are many pin-compatible (and pin-close-enough) SBCs out there.

      @pkos no AV, just the built in firewall on macOS.
      @Phaedrux 3.3.0. I Don't use chrome. I avoid Google products when I can.

      EDIT: I forgot I have lockdown installed! Turning it off fixed this. But what is lockdown blocking that breaks DWC?
