    • RE: Filament runout follow up

      @dc42
      I’m on 2.0 can i still use M581? It keeps throwing it to Emergency Stop.

      All I need it tot do:
      Filament present : print goes on normally
      Filament absent: trigger pause , wait for filament, purge

      Similar to M600 in Marlin

      Do I need to rewrite pause.g with M701 and M702 ?

      Thanks

      It just said simple filament sensor on endstop4 , disable, output liw when no filament

      Nothing really change whether filament is in or not.

      What does it actually do? Does it trigger a stop?

    • RE: Filament runout follow up

      I have a simple sensor. A micro switch wired to be NC, so when filament is present , the switch would be open.

      I have this
      M591 D3 P2 C3 S1 ; E-0 watcher
      M591 D4 P2 C4 S1 ; E-1 watcher

      I had D0 and D1 before but nothing happened. Where & how should I input this in my config?

    • Filament runout follow up

      I have seen this thread
      https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/4699/are-you-using-a-filament-sensor-with-your-duet/6
      It’s actual what I want to do as someone mentioned m581

      Do I have to insert m581 m582 in a particular order ? In config.g?

      Can someone share what it should look like?

      I'm trying a simple sensor with m591 and got nothing...

      The original post is locked so I have to make a new thread to ask.

      @t3p3tony TB6600 does not work.
      I have to change to a more expensive DM542S

      I have it running now. At 32x , it runs ebrry time now. 128x doesn’t work.

      @t3p3tony
      Yes this is on external drivers(xyz) so m350 for xyz doesn’t matter but the m92 steps per unit (mm) is the deciding factor?

      Thanks a bunch!

      @dc42
      I got it to run!!!

      Now here is a new issue. When I run test all motors, I edited to have 32x microstepping. An error pop up saying M350 drive Z does not support 32x microstepping... what is the deal?

      Exactly what I am doing but still no clear answer...

      And I got 3.7V on dir- and dir+ when I was trying to home...

      But still no motion from external drive 5 6 7 8.

      @dc42 step rate as in khz ( not quite sure ) or the microstepping limit? I’m using 32x for these external driver.

      What is the default pulse time of the board?

    • RE: TB6600 external drives

      @dc42 I did
      M584 X5 Y6:7 Z8 E3:4

      But I remove the T value in M569 because I thought wiring it to 5V should be ok.

      I will attemp that change later when I go to the shop. What would happen if I change T from T2 to T5? Does this create inaccuracy ?

      I will check the voltage reading as well.

      How do I save the settings files to my computer? Is it possible to save different settings to pc and upload what’s needed to be checked ? I kinda want to save variations of set up and not keep changing one

    • Remapping confusion on Extruders

      M584 is for remapping. I understand the XYZ part but not really sure how the firmware differenciate the extruders.
      Say I have 3 extruders on drive 5,6,7

      M584 E5:6:7 would be the assignment, but how does this tell which one is Extruder#1,2 or 3?

      Also hotend drive is listed as D in the further down of the config ( I didn’t see this listed in the board drawing ) How many extruders can I practically add on here?

      @dc42
      So all + of the 4 drives ( 5678 ) bundle together to the 5+v? The -(stp,dir,ena) stay where they are? Do i leave all 6 wires connected to the tb6600?

      Will a 3.3v to 5v bi directional level shifter help in this situation?
      With this Wiring, can I send signals from 1 drive ( on expansion board ) to 4 external drivers ( trying to run 4 Zs at once )
