@jay_s_uk I was not aware of that. I mentioned that to a friend who also has the same setup and he wasn't aware either. Thank you!

RE: Constant problems with SmartEffector
So far, it's been all my issues.. I found that the z probe out had somehow broken at the connector after working fine. I went ahead and soldered all the end connectors and wire ends before reassembling.
Still not a fan of the molex 6 pin.. I've just soldered on the connectors and isolated with heatshrink. I figure out how to keep it secured later, although it's working just fine as it is.
I have followed the guide. I've built a Kossel XL from components off RobotDigg. I'm using a Duet2 wifi (which had been previously used on a Rostock Max and an open source cartesian). Normally I've used a BL Touch for z probe and haven't had any issues with it.
Still working through the cooling fan issue. I've run a first print and it looks great. Far less frustrated now.
I'm going to attempt to install the cooling fan again. I've found a few different designs that mount across the arm width, that hopefully won't add any strain to the effector.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Constant problems with SmartEffector
Where to begin...
6 pin molex is a poor choice, I've had to replace 3 already, chasing down bad crimps.
I had to sand the mounting hole for the heatsink a little just to get it to sit flush with the pcb. I can only get it to seat if I tighten the nut. Wonder if this causes any strain on the sensor.
Had the effector working briefly, after finding that just hanging a print cooling fan was enough to activate the strain gauge. After adjusting the sensitivity a little higher the turn off the led, now it's saying it's triggered before probing a point, but the led is not on.
I've had the sensitivity adjusted a few times and, well.. this just seems like too much hassle to get something working that should work out of the box.
Very frustrated by this product.

Duet2 wifi and BLtouch troubleshooting help
I know I’m close to getting a BLtouch working with a Duet2 wifi, but the probe won’t deploy for z homing or bed mesh.
I’m running Firmware 2.02RC6
I have the black and white wires on the zstop pins (as per the image) I have the brown, red, and orange wires on the expansion pins (as per the image) using heater 3 pin for servo (which works)
M574 Z1 S2 ; Set endstops controlled by probe
M558 P9 H5 F120 T2000 ; BL TOUCH SETTINGS - Set Z probe type/mode 9. H=Dive Height. F=Speed the bed moves
G31 P25 X0 Y-32 Z0.0 ; BL TOUCH SETTINGS - Z probe trigger value, offset in relation to nozzle. And trigger height adjustment
M307 H3 A-1 C-1 D-1 ; Disable Heater 3 to use pwm pin for BL Touch
I’ve written the macros, and they all deploy or retract the probe ex.(M280 P3 S10 I1; Send PWM channel 3 the s10 (angle) command)
I have deployprobe.g and retractprobe.g in the /sys directory
What am I missing? Why will the probe not deploy unless specifically M280 is sent?
Thanks!
Sean
The printer is a 400mmx400mm open source cartesian, similar in function to an i3. I have had an IR sensor installed and working, but find that the glass bed and the IR probe are not consistent.
