I have a 111gram extruder assembly on top of my smart effector, a typical E3D heatsink/hotend/fan hanging from it, and a 5015 part cooling blower fan with duct also hanging from it. The only problems I have with it falsely triggering are the result of my crappy linear rails vibrating.

You can remove that from your homeall.g. The G30 command will deploy the probe as needed.

Does the probe deploy and retract when you send M401 and M402?

I would suggest you upgrade to the 2.03 full release. Release candidates are not supported beyond their test period.
