Turned out to be a Z-offset in my slicer I dismissed because I needed it before.
All is working as it should now.

@the_gibson if you can get a existing config then use the config tool here: https://configtool.reprapfirmware.org/ and the existing information from (e.g. Marlin configuration.h) od the documentation to get dimensions, correct currents etc.
