Also, manually setting a standby temperature into the web interface doesn't increase the temperature.
I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. Is the board completely dead, or just the fan outputs?
Have you tried using sam-ba? I find this works well. I'm hosting it somewhere here if you search for it.
