Alright, just want to do it the right way. Also thought about soldering it to the RPI. I need to think about it. Let's see where it goes to....
Thanks!

In general yes, but then my RPI case doesn't fit anymore because the height of the ribbon connector increases. My printer is currently running 24x7 and I just want to avoid printing the case again. Need to finish all the other printer parts.

it also means no heat sinks so increased cooling need when idle?

@bearer
I don't run mine with heat sinks had no issues with temps?
Only covers the cpu so heat sinks can be placed on the other chips -
You can always do what I did.

(was tempted to get one in order to de-jankify the PoE / Duet mix, but realized it won't fly without extending the 4 PoE pins as well. will have a think, or ask jlcpcb to send something similar:)) -
I am using one of these to power it all.

5v feed to the duet3 is also disabled

For what itβs worth the DOSTAR LED connection works to give 5V as someone else already mentioned. I use that to power a pi touch screen.
