@bearer Same 2000 degree and "fault" problem regardless of channel/ terminal block in config. Also tried plugging daughterboard into extension board. Removing the daughterboard altogether. I also jumpered the terminal with a straight wire and then resistor. Same result.

Right, well, please wait while we try to tune our chrystal balls in to whatever combination of wiring and configuration you have settled on to see what wrong.

Meanwhile, please check the settings in your browser as it appears not to be rendering links properly.

@bearer No crystal ball needed. Ive tried every combo of block and channel as per the documentation. Just in case I wasnt clear

@bearer Is there a way to test if the daughterboard is even functional or DOA?

Can you clarify which daughter board you have? We don't manufacture a "thermistor daughterboard", we manufacture a daughter board for PT100 sensors, and another for thermocouples.

We supply a 100 ohm resistor with the PT100 daughter boards, to help you confirm that the daughter board and your firmware configuration are correct. With the 100 ohm resistor connected in place of a PT100 sensor, the reading should be very close to 0C.

For the thermocouple daughter boards, if you connect a wire link in place of the thermocouple, you should get a reading close to ambient temperature.

Ah bad terminology from seller I guess. Reading off the board "PT100 RTD Board Revision 1.1a By Duet 3d CERN OHL 1.2"

The intent is to control exhaust fans for heated enclosure.

@dc42 I got a brief reading close to zero with the resistor in place then back 2000 and fault. . I have the connections jumpered with a wire but same thing. I pulled the board off altogether and same 2000 temp with fault indicated on the duet interface. Im using my laptop so no USB connection

That's completely normal. You will get an error if you configure a sensor to use a PT100 daughter board channel, but the daughter board is not present.

if we assume you did everything right then the board isn't working.

if we're open to the possibility that the board is fine a picture or two and the complete config just might help, then again there is a limit to how many times I'll suggest that

d the daughterboard and the reading is still the same. I tried putting in a 100ohm resistor in the circuit and then just the resistor in place of the wires. Not sure what is going on. I am just beginning to try to understand the g code.

Are you sure ur not talking about the pt100 daughter board, you cant use a thermistor with it.

now if we only had a picture to show where the board is connected and how the sensor is wired we could correlate it to the config.

but as it seems that is too much to ask I'm afraid we're at the end of what we can assist you with.
