that probably means that the grub screw is close enough to cause problems.
but if it is working now..

Yes, I will keep an eye on it. The next step will be a calibration if the screw than.

Me neither, but I was not able to find a better solution.
I tried the IR-Probe from dc42 and that thing gave me even more problems, so I switched all of my printers back to BL-Touches. Cheers, Chriss

I had a ir-probe on my CR-10 pro v2 with a PEI sheet and I was unable to get reliable results. I gave up there after to many crashes of the nozzle to the bed.
The results on my CoreXY with a bright PrintBite+ where also not very reliable. I lost on one of them the IR-Diode, whether by temperature or by a crash. One simply died for "whatever" reason.So I simply gave up, I will give them a next chance sometime in the future but I'm done with them for now.

That is basically a home made bl-touch if I understand both correctly.
Well, is that technically a better solution? I do not see any benefits here when I compare it with the BL-Touch.

the bltouch will ram into the bed.
its very accurate.

If the probe is overwise working you could add the commands to reset errors and retract the pin to the end of config.g and the start of your homing files so that the probe is prepared to be used.

I do not see any benefits here when I compare it with the BL-Touch.I have both a genuine BLTouch 3.1 and this on a few of my production printers, which run almost all day most days. Believe it or not, the homemade version is faster, more accurate, and has not caused a single inconvenience. Not once in the almost-year that I've used it have I had to tinker with it or worry about it. It just works!
I wish I could say the same about my BLTouch!

@Phaedrux Yes, the probe seams to work correctly. The probe is at duty since 3 days and I still work on the hardware. So there is not sooo much to say about the long term experience with that one.
I will update the bootloader and I change the tiny bugger with the one in my CR10 with a duet2, just to know which device is the source.
So it seems that this is not a soooo comon problem.

It seams that the problem is solved now. I upgraded the bootloader of the toolboard to 2.2. I do not understand how that should have influence here but I'm not a embedded device programmer.

there was a bug that debug information was written to the pwm pin during the bootloader process. this causes problems with bltouch.

It is a much better solution to fix that than try to work around. The trick with the resets produced a lot of other problems. That seemed to me like a endless process. Anyway, happy now. I'm so happy that I can start with the fist first tests with hot filament.
