This is something we'd really like to help the community with once we get our design to market..

As for other filaments, the only alternative we'd currently consider is ASA. There are plenty of other specialty filaments out there that have better characteristics, and we've tried most, but we always end up coming back to ABS as it checks all the boxes for our needs.

One more quick video of our final motion system, this time isolated by each axis. Z is moving at 250mm/s and X&Y is moving at 400mm/s!

A lot has been accomplished since I last posted to this thread. For starters, the codename "ele^gant" has been replaced. We are now branding our machines as the oozeBot Elevate! Our R&D is nearly complete but we have a ton of QA to do before our launch.

We will also be launching with an IDEX machine that I'm very excited about. Here is a photo of our 12x12x12" (305x305x305mm) IDEX, the tool heads, and a quick video directly from my workbench.

          IDEX2.jpg

And here is a video of it moving at 200mm/s the first half and 400mm/s the second half. And yeah, it's jumping around on my workbench a bit as it's just sitting on the turntable.

We have just wrapped up the design of our electronics control panel and thought it would be of interest. It features a Duet 3 (6HC) mainboard, a Duet breakout board (IDEX only), a 2gb RPi4b, two Omron SSRs for build plate and chamber heaters, and both a 5v and 24v Meanwell power supply. Hidden underneath the Duet 3 mainboard is a 92mm intake fan with air channels venting towards the power supplies and other electronics.

I'm not comfortable with the PSUs close to the electronics. I also think the tool distribution board belongs closer to the tools.

                    Just my two cent

We should probably just let this old thread die as almost everything posted was during our prototyping phase and has been replaced and/or updated. However, we'll keep it going with new updates instead of littering up the forum.

Here is the near final version of our enclosure which takes some design hints from an 80's arcade machine. Yes, that's real t-molding. It will be sold as a flat pack with optional paint schemes and other extras such as side windows and a few other surprises.

Also, here is our new filament storage chamber design. This is the first of several we are building as we expand our farm. Each holds 12 mega-spools (10kg or 22lb) of ABS filament and feed 6 printers. It's controlled by a Raspberry Pi and a bank of relays to maintain ~20% humidity at 40~45c once stabilized.

And finally, I spent the previous weekend re-tuning both the machine and our filament profiles. Here is a part printed in ABS with the near-finalized profile:

Nonsense. Feel free to start a new thread if you wish.

We had the opportunity to deliver one of our first production machines to Slice Engineering yesterday for their testing! Check out this awesome video they posted this morning of it in action!
