      I just tried to crimp a connector with my Preciva PR-3254 (https://www.amazon.com/Crimping-Preciva-Ratcheting-Connectors-0-1-1mm²/dp/B07R1H3Z8X) crimper, let's just say it wasn't a success...

      I have the 1LC v1.3 and I've tried to figure out exactly what connectors it uses, but I'm not 100% sure. Is it BPH-002T-P0.5S pins with PHR-x housings?

      What crimper do I need to get the job done? Given how small these connectors are I want something good, but maybe not 500euro good as for the WC-240 though 😉

      Any advice is greatly appreciated and please, if possible provide links where to purchase, preferably in Europe.

      Thanks 🙂

        @Reine I use Engineer PA-09
        the CAN connectors is JST-ZH and the others are JST-PH

        Owns various duet boards and is the main wiki maintainer for the Teamgloomy LPC/STM32 port of RRF. Assume I'm running whatever the latest beta/stable build is

          @Reine I use this:
          https://iwiss.com/products/icrimp-sn-2549-ratcheting-wire-crimping-tools-for-jst-zh-1-5mm-ph-2-0mm-xh-2-5mm-vh-3-96mm-jwps-4-0mm-pitch-dupont-2-54mm/
          other similar tools exist.

          I find a ratcheting crimper that crimps both the insulation and the wire parts of the crimp in one motion a lot easier to use that the non ratcheting Engineer PA-09, although i have one of those as well and it does work.

              @T3P3Tony thanks for the recommendation, of corse that tool isn't currently available on my local Amazon.

              I also found the WC-240 tool for like half price in a store, it seams like a nice tool as it keeps the connector in place and given how small they are I can really see the use for that.

                Crimpers for connections are covered here in the wiki: https://docs.duet3d.com/en/How_to_guides/Wiring_your_Duet_3#crimping-the-connectors

                  @Reine ..... YIKES ..... did you see the price on that thing? If you use it commercially day in and day out then sure but to do a few 1LC boards ????

                  Mind you, there is nothing more annoying than a crimp joint that isn't tight enough (wire pops out at the least opportune time) or too tight (wire breaks). The best crimper isn't going to save your bacon if you don't observe the pin specs for wire gauge or insulation thickness (these are very specific!)

                    @Reine Also, you could use the connectors @gnydick reported here: https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/30896/i-found-relief-for-jst-zh-wiring-pain

                      @droftarts I have resorted to just buying pre-crimped leads.
