      Hi Guys,

      I had my Duet3 6HC running on my network with a fixed IP address.

      I've just change ISP to Now Broadband and can't locate my Duet on my network.

      Is this an issue with the Now Broadband router, as I've found issues with port forwarding with Home Assistant?

      Dizzwold.

        If your ISP gave you a new modem/router combo that you switched too chances are that all your static IP devices are borked. And only the ones with DHCP enabled still work because many ISP's have a "non-standard" IP range and/or subnet configured on their routers.

        For instance your old ISP used "standard IP" range 192.168.0.x and your static ip devices are set to something within that range.

        Then your new ISP's router might have a "non-standard" IP range 192.168.10.x, then all your devices with a static IP won't be able to "connect". The solution being to either change the ip range of your new router to be the same as your old. Or conform all static ip devices to the new IP range.

          I've gone into my routers setting;
          LAN TCP/IP Setup and changed "use router a DHCP Server" and changed the start IP address and ending IP address, so my duets static ip address is within these ranges, but still nothing?

            @Dizzwold Generally you don't want a static address between start and end or your router might assign it to a different device dynamically. So, use the same subnet but start after or before the static address.

            So, my router uses 192.168.0.xxx subnet and I reserve the <100 folks for static addresses and the >100 for dynamic. I let it deliver 192.168.0.100-192.168.0.250 dynamically.

              Okay, I've put my new routers settings back to how they were;
              Screen Shot 2023-02-25 at 20.00.12.png

              My duets IP address is,

              192.168.1.xxx

              Angry ip scanner, if I set the range so my duet will be within 192.168.0.0-192.168.1.255, it doesn't see it?

                @Dizzwold Your subnet mask means the router will only use 192.168.0.xxx and you won't see anything at 192.168.1.xxx.

                Here's what I would do.

                Keep the router IP address and subnet mask as is

                Starting IP Adddress -> 192.168.0.50
                Ending IP Address -> 192.168.0.254

                Set the Duet address to 192.168.0.25 (or anything between 2 and 49)

                You may need to restart any other devices on your network to ensure they move to the new router available dynamic address range.

                  Just to say thank you to both for you advice.

                    I've got issues with setting a new Ip address on the duet.

                    I use it in stand alone mode (no SBC).

                    I've disconnected everything, wired it by usb and ethernet directly to my computer (mac osx)

                    Using serial tools, I get the following;

                    Screen Shot 2023-02-26 at 09.24.22.png

                    The duets in stand alone mode, I don't get it?

                      Hmm that's weird, what happens if you send M552 S0 followed by M552 S-1 ?

                        I think I tried that and got the same result.

                        I've just checked in terminal + checked the usb in system (on mac osx);

                          I forgot that you werent on a wifi board so M552 S-1 wouldn't do much for you anyways lmao.

                          I suggest you remove everything networking related from your current config.g and add this:

                          ; Network
                          M552 S1                                                                        ; Enable network

                          M586 P1 S1                                                                     ; Enable FTP (for remote backups)

                          Then you create runonce.g containing these lines:

                          ; /sys/runonce.g
                          ; called after config.g. When it has been executed, it is automatically deleted!
                          ;
                          M552 S0                                                                        ; disable network
                          G4 S1                                                                          ; wait a second
                          M552 P192.168.0.14                                                             ; configure IP address
                          G4 S1                                                                          ; wait a second
                          M552 S1                                                                        ; enable network

                          Put runonce.g in /sys/ on your SD card, insert it in your machine and start it.

                          Then try connecting to 192.168.0.14 after a couple minutes, just to see what happens.

                          Assuming you haven't allready got 192.168.0.14 assigned to some other device ofc!

                            @Dizzwold Generally you can't set a computer name with a space character in it. Have you tried using M550 P"Duet3" ?

                            Also I'm confused by that .xxx - are you not showing it? That needs to be number like @Exerqtor shows.

                              The space shouldn't be an issue, I've got one in my M550 as well, and it's working flawlessly 😃

                                @Exerqtor Huh, thanks. I took a look and in their usual clever fashion they display the m550 name but elide the space when setting the hostname.

                                  The printer name with the space hasn't been an issue before and the last 3, or 4 if you include the dot (.xxx), these are numbers, I'm just not willing to disclose them to the worldwide web.

                                  Ive created the runonce.g file in sys on the sd card and removed my network info from the config.g and added the network info above as mentioned.

                                  If I open a browser on 192.168.0.14, the page just keeps searching.

                                  I now get a link led illuminated on the ethernet connector, where I didn't before (the left green led).

                                  This is only the usb cable for power and serial connection and an ethernet cable directly from the Duet to my computer.

                                  In serial tools I get the following;
                                  Screen Shot 2023-02-26 at 13.25.13.png

                                  If I do an Angry IP scan the Duet isn't found, searching from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.0.255

                                  Edit,
                                  I've just entered M552 in serial tools and it returns;
                                  M552
                                  Ethernet is enabled, configured IP address: 192.168.0.14, actual IP address: 192.168.0.14
                                  ok

                                  But searching in m,y browser for that address, it keeps searching.

                                    Hmm, i'm not sure if powering the board just with an USB connection will be enough (might be wrong on that one though).

                                        Wow, Well I have no explanation for this except I sent Now Broadband an email stating I have a 3d printer, what ip address it had and what new IP address I was now changing it to, ie in the new range of the new router;
                                        Old ISP Talktalk was on 192.168.1.xxx
                                        New ISP Now Broadband is on 192.168.0.xxx

                                        Ten minuets later, all of a sudden the Duet could be found on the new static IP address I'd given it.

                                        No email in reply or any explanation form Now Broadband, just suddenly worked and was found?

                                        If I get an email at any point, I'll let you all know.

                                        Really, really confused.

                                            Can you send M122 and copy paste here?

                                            Does it still think it's in SBC mode?
