Can you share the rest of your config files for your machine? Homing files, tool change, etc?

@Shoki I had the exact same issue... I even went so far as to switch from a Duet2 Wifi to a Duet3, I'm happy I did but it did not solve the issue. I ultimately thought the PanelDue was faulty then I decided to keep trying. I erased the firmware on the paneldue several times then updated it to the latest firmware over USB using Bossa per instructions and now my issue seems to be resolved. On a side note I no longer see results of G32 on the consol of the PanelDue and it shows 0.0.0.0 as the IP but at least I don't have constant wifi disconnects.

See my original post here I fought this for almost a year and finally resolved within the past week.

edit: one common thread is that we both run tool changers, only I'm running a Jubilee
edit edit: I see you found my post... DOH...

@Phaedrux @Shoki If there's anything I can do to help let me know... I should update my post that my problem seems to be resolved.

@Shoki Out of curiousity, before wiping see if the paneldue shows the IP address of the printer. I know mine used to but now it only shows 0.0.0.0 and I'm not sure if it's because I'm running a Duet3 with SBC or if wiping the paneldue had something to do with it. I didn't really pay attention to the IP on the paneldue and only noticed that it no longer showed the correct IP after everything was working properly.

I feel your pain though as it's been incredibly frustrating.

@edsped said in Duet 2 Ethernet disconnect when printing and paneldue connected:

                  I'm running a Duet3 with SBC

This is the reason because the SBC is handling all networking.

@Phaedrux I realize I'm hijacking the thread but could the reason the paneldue didn't initially work with the Duet3 w/SBC be that it was still using the IP from the Duet2 or is the IP just passed through from config.g during boot up?

The paneldue only gets information from the duet. When the Duet is in SBC mode, it has no IP address of it's own.

To those of you who are having this issue: which PanelDue do you have, and what firmware version is the PanelDue running? Look on the Status page check.

@dc42 My problem appears to be solved. I did move from the Duet2 WiFi to the Duet 3, the problem persisted, I did a reset and wipe of the PanelDue 7i several times then installed latest beta from Github using Bossa over USB and my problem is gone. Not that it's a big deal but I no longer get pertinent information in the PanelDue console but I'm assuming it has to do with me running the 6HC in SBC mode as the IP is also 0.0.0.0 I'm just happy I have some control at the printer itself.

@edsped I erased the firmware and updated it again via Bossa and USB, it did not solve anything. The IP adress was showing both before and after the update.

@dc42 This is a PanelDue 7i, running now firmware version 3.5.0-rc7-7.0i.

                            @Phaedrux

This is the result of a M122 command after a print where the error appeared multiple time, no reboot of the Duet after the print :

@Shoki I'm guessing that the PanelDue might be generating excessive traffic, overloading the Duet output buffers. If that's the case then if you switch to the PanelDue Setup screen, DWC may reconnect.

@dc42 I don't need to do anything for it to reconnect. It comes back on it's own after a few seconds. It's just very annoying and sometimes the disconnection are so frequent I don't have time to send gcode commands manually in the console of the DWC, which is very annoying.

So you think it's something that can't be fixed : too much information displayed on the PanelDue because it's a Toolchanger ?
I tried to disable all my tools except one in my config.g. So that only a single tool was displayed on the PanelDue and I still had the problem...

I guess if it can't be fixed I will just add an on/off switch next to the screen so that I can power it on when I need it and leave it off when I don't.

I'd be curious to see what happens if you went back to an older version of the PanelDue firmware like 1.24

@Phaedrux Not so sure it will help. I believe I went through just about every firmware when I was fighting this. The only thing I didn't do was update over USB until I got the 6HC. I'm going to follow this as I putzed with it for almost a year before tossing in the towel.

@Phaedrux I will not be able to try this before mid november as I have vacation and then I will see you at Formnext.

Now I'm racking my brain to think of anything I did differently going from the wifi to the 6HC and the only other thing I can think of and it may be minor is that I switched from a flat 4 wire cable to a twisted left over from a stepper motor. That being said I switched between the 4 wire and the ribbon cable when trying to troubleshoot the WiFi but I did not use new wires for the 4 wire setup. What I'm currently running...

All, thanks for reporting this. I suspect that something is causing PanelDue to repeatedly retry a request for the object model, causing the GCode processor to be overloaded with M409 requests. We are looking into it. Meanwhile, if anyone encounters this please report:

                                          • RRF firmware version on the main board
                                          • PanelDue firmware version
                                          • What baud rate you are using for the PanelDue (the default 57600, or something else)
                                          • What status the PanelDue is showing after it happened (Idle, Connecting, something else, or alternating between two or more values)
                                          • Anything you did (e.g. command you sent to the machine) that appeared to trigger this happening.
