    • RE: Duet 2 wifi 1 amp fuses needed STAT!

@dc42 Oh, I've found them, but it is the 2 week "slow boat from China" that I am trying to avoid! I ordered some through fillastruder so I'm all set!!

If there is a suggestion box somewhere, It would be cool if there were the three replacement fuses included with the board. They literally cost pennies, but would be such a life saver in case of an emergency.

@bot Raise the price for the board $1. 00. I'm good. There were quite a few items included with the board that I am not using. Sorry for wasting your money Duet3D!

    • RE: Duet pi GUI

@tekstyle I downloaded the duetpi file with the full GUI. I connected the pi to the duet 3 with the ribbon cable. Did you edit the wpa_supplicant.conf? So you can connect to wifi. If you haven't done this yet, make sure you use a good text editing app (I swear by Atom), as Windows and Mac stock apps sometimes put weird line breaks and other funkyness in the files.

    • Duet3D Technical Support

I've debated whether to send this post for days now...

I've spent quite a bit of money on my two Duet 2 wifis and my new Duet 3 motherboards. I admit that all of this isn't my strong suit, but I love problem solving and technology. I have been trying to get my Duet 3 setup now for the better part of a week. There have been multiple users answer my question and without their incredible knowledge and generosity, I wouldn't be as far as I am. BUT it is hard to make any progress when you don't know if anyone is going to reply to my post. This forum, from what I can tell is the main point of technical support for our projects. As far as I can tell, David is the only person who responds to forum questions. He responded to one of my questions a day or two ago, I posted a followup and haven't heard back from him. Not sure, but David sounds like the head dude here and should be working on making better and cooler motherboards.

My question is why isn't there more Duet3D tech support people (are there any?!) roaming this forum, all the time. If this was the secondary point of tech support contact, then an occaisional check in from tech support would be fine. But THIS is it.

From the Contact us page on the website:
"If you have a technical query then please check the documentation and use the forum as the first point of contact. Both David and Tony will be able to help on the forums, and if it is an issue that effects more than just you everyone will benefit from seeing the answer.

Emails are likely to get a lower priority than forum posts and support cannot be given over the telephone."

Again, this is not criticism of the users who give of their time to answer questions, it is towards Duet3D for not providing any meaningful technical support for those of us who have spent real money on their premium products.

Thanks and have at me I guess.

    • CR-10 V2 RepRap Configurator

So, I'm in trying to setup my CR-10 V2 in the reprap configurator and there are A LOT (i.e., all) of the questions that I can't answer other than maybe the bed size. If I venmo'd or paypal'd someone $10 to complete the configurator I would really appreciate it. I would like to start off with the configuration file right.

      Thanks in advance.

I have a spare Raspberry Pi 4 4gb ram laying around and I am wondering if there is any benefit (performance or otherwise) by using it instead of a V3 B+.

      Thanks

Thanks for all of the responses.

@bearer said in Any home test to determine if Duet 3 is defective.:

Are you using it with a Raspberry Pi (or other SBC), or in stand alone mode?

I am using it with a raspberry pi. Is there a setting in the software that switches to / from Stand alone mode?

@Danal said in Any home test to determine if Duet 3 is defective.:

Ensure that the the firmware "flashed" into the Board is at a high enough level that it can be upgraded via the "sudo apt update" "sudo apt upgrade" commands on a go forward basis. This might involve BOSSA. But, again, go forward, you want it to be " two commands and done." This is one of the biggest reasons to "start from a known point", to ensure this is super clean.

Multiple questions here. "Flashed at a high enough level..."Not sure how to do this, but I am familiar with working with raspberry pi remote/ssh access. "This might involve BOSSA..." Not sure about this.

I will save the config.g. I was kind of hoping that I could find someone with a working CR-10 v2 / Duet3 combo and inquire about using that to start from.

      Anyhoo...Thanks again for the comments.

    • RE: Any home test to determine if Duet 3 is defective.

I worked on getting these two working for about a month (as evidenced by all of my posts here on the subject) So I don't have to go back through everything again, I just wanted to see if there was something I could test (say with a multimeter) to confirm that the board is physically working correctly. Thanks.

    • Any home test to determine if Duet 3 is defective.

I'm ready to dive back into getting my CR-10 v2 working with my Duet3. I teach at a university, so the last couple of months have been kind of hectic...I'm not 100% sure that the board might be bad. Is there any way to test the board to see if it is indeed defective. Thanks much.
