    • Auto-Lowering Print Bed Due to Print Head Resistance

      Dear all,

Today while printing, I noticed that when the print head encounters a certain amount of resistance (such as uneven surfaces on the part), the print bed automatically moves down by approximately one layer's distance. Is this some kind of collision avoidance feature in the settings? Can it be turned off? Or is it more likely a mechanical issue with the printer?(seems not)

      Thanks for helping!

    • RE: Issue with Diagonal Movement of Printhead After Firmware Update

      @droftarts
after i set the sensor to PT1000, comes a problem while tuning

Warning: heater behaviour was not consistent during tuning
Auto tuning heater 1 completed after 3 idle and 25 tuning cycles in 1240 seconds. This heater needs the following M307 command:
      M307 H1 R2.888 K4.029:0.000 D8.49 E1.35 S1.00 B0 V24.0
Send M500 to save this command in config-override.g

the Heater doesnt work correctlly, when i set the temperature to 415c, it will heat consistantly until the temperture reach 450c and the heater turn to fault state.

    • RE: Issue with Diagonal Movement of Printhead After Firmware Update

@gloomyandy Thank you for your response. The printhead movement is now fine, but I am facing another issue. My H1 is a printhead with a high-temperature heat cartridge and a PT1000 thermal sensor. However, now I have to redefine this printhead using the commands M308 and M147 every time I restart the machine, and I also need to do tuning again. My configuration does not seem to save my operations. What could be the reason for this?

    • Issue with Diagonal Movement of Printhead After Firmware Update

After updating to the latest firmware version 3.5.1, when I input commands in DWC for the printhead to move in the X or Y direction, the printhead moves diagonally instead. This error seems to be due to using the wrong firmware. My board is a Duet WiFi 2, and I used the firmware labeled "Duet2and3Firmware-3.5.1", which I uploaded and extracted directly in DWC. Where did the error occur?

    • RE: Help Needed: Z-Axis Offset Issues When Printing the Same Layer

      @droftarts

I tried following your suggestion, and the results for the first and second layers were very good. However, starting from the third layer, I feel that the step distance for each layer along the Z-axis is too large, likely more than 0.2 mm.

This is strange because the issue suddenly appeared after I adjusted the Z-offset once, and it only occurs with this one printhead, while the others work normally.

    • Help Needed: Z-Axis Offset Issues When Printing the Same Layer

I encountered a problem while printing. When printing the same layer, there seems to be different Z offsets.

Ideally, the Z direction should remain constant when the printer is printing the same layer. However, I tried two different infill methods, rectilinear and concentric, and both showed errors. With rectilinear, after printing the upper part and switching to the lower, the print bed moved downwards, preventing the material from adhering to the print bed. With concentric, the print bed also dropped while printing from the inside outwards. All of these issues occurred while printing the same layer.

Does anyone know what the problem might be? I think the reason is that the print bed automatically lowered during printing. Could it be an issue with mesh bed compensation?

The equipment is Duet wifi2 with newest Firmware

      Hello!

After tightening the motor and pulleys, the previously mentioned layer shift issue was resolved. However, layer shifting still occurs when changing the printhead, as shown in the picture. The black material should align perfectly with the material below it. It seems that the direction of this layer shift is also diagonal. Do you know what might be causing this?

    • Help Needed: Layer Shift Issues with 3D Printer

      Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for some assistance as I've encountered a persistent problem with my 3D printer. Regardless of which print head I use, my printed parts are experiencing layer shifts. Specifically, the Z-axis appears to be tilting, with the direction of the tilt being towards the top-left of the print bed.

This issue persists no matter which print head I use, leading me to wonder where the problem might lie. Could it possibly be an issue with the slicer software I'm using? I'm at a bit of a loss here and would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions you might have.

the board I'm using is Duet 2 wifi

Thank you in advance for your help!

    • Temperture sensor wrong PT1000

      Hello everyone,

I replaced the PT1000 temperature sensor for my higher power heat cartridges, but after connecting it, the sensor incorrectly reads the temperature as 158 degrees at room temperature.

      Hello mr administrator,

If it's an issue of insufficient voltage, can I adjust the voltage of the heater on DWC? Or do I need to replace it with a higher power supply module?

@droftarts I attempted to tune heater1 and heater4, the Command is M303 T0(T3) S200, and the result was the same, both heaters can only reach a maximum of around 150 degrees, and the heating will stop and in Console shows tune canceled.

      the temperature is as follows

      Great it works!

and a followed question: When I attempt to heat the nozzle, it shows that the M568 command is no longer needed. I referred to other posts on forums, and they suggest the issue might be a mismatch but I believe I have installed the latest firmware version for the Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet. Could there be another reason for this issue? or anywhere wrong?

      Hello jay and mr administrator,

After implementing your suggestions, part of the home Z function succeeded. However, I need to manually move the printhead above the Print bed position before I run home Z. When I use the home Z command directly after homeX and Y, although the dashboard shows the Printhead's position as 150 and 100, it is actually still in the bottom left corner. In this position, the print bed cannot reach the probe Z sensor.

      now im using RRF3

      the home Z code:

      ; homez.g
; called to home the Z axis

    • home z bug fix

      Hello everyone,

I'm a complete beginner with Duet 3D, and I'm using the Duet2 WiFi version. After assembling everything, it all seemed to work well. However, I'm encountering an issue when homing the Z-axis. The print bed of the 3D printer moves down three times and then stops at a new position. If I run the home Z command multiple times, the print bed continues to lower until it starts making a noise, yet there are no error messages throughout this process.

I really need help with this issue, so any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed to help diagnose the problem, please let me know and I'll provide it as soon as possible. Thank you all in advance!

      The home Z code:
      ; homez.g
; called to home the Z axis

T-1 ;just in case there is a tool coupled, go try to drop it at the dock

      M98 P/macros/Coupler - Unlock ;Open Coupler

      G91 ; Relative mode
      G1 H2 Z5 F5000 ; Lower the bed
G90 ; back to absolute positioning

      G1 X150 Y100 F50000 ; Position the endstop above the bed centre
      G4 P500
      G91 ; Relative mode

      G4 P500 ; wait 500msec
      G1 Z-300 H1 F1000 ; Move Z down until the switch triggers (first pass)

      G4 P500 ; wait 500msec
      G1 Z5 F5000 ; Lift Z

      G4 P500 ; wait 500msec
      G1 Z-300 H1 F300 ; Move Z down until the switch triggers (second pass)

      G4 P500 ; wait 500msec
      G1 Z5 F5000 ; Drop the Bed

G90 ; Back to absolute positioning
