A Z probe is not the same as a Z endstop! If you want to Z home the printer using a Z probe, you need to use different commands in your homing files. See https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/ConfiguringRepRapFirmwareCartesianPrinter#Section_Homing_Z.

@alpenprinter Excellent. The standard cable does not give an issue for nearly everyone so maybe you are operating in a particularly electrically noisy environment? if not then maybe there is an issue with the particular cable (bad contacts/wire/plug). let me know if you would like us to send you a replacement cable to test.
