      @dc42 interpolation isn't real stepping.
      It's better than not having it, but it's 0,0125 mm accuracy versus 0,00078125 mm accuracy.
      I sure don't need 0,001 mm accuracy for my application because material itself can't be this much accurate, but 0,01 can some times be visible (this is why I switched to full 256 microsteps.
      I've tried 1/64 before switching to 1/256, it did improved some surfaces but not as much as 1/256 did.

      What's about Duet 3?
      Does it have the same issue or should I start saving for an upgrade?

      And why not add another fan-Advance for the cooling fan of the heatbreak of the extruder:

      That Needs to be spun up before retract, but could be considerably lower when feeding out material.

      Two extreme examples:

      A complicated part with endless retracts that need to keep the heatbreak cool so with all the retracts the heat doesn´t slowly go/creep up the heatbreak-tube, with 100% pwm for that fan.

      An endless spiral Vase, that has 0 retract (oh wait, when the part is finished there is 1 retract at the end) which could run considerably quieter and consumes less electricity, e.g. with the same fan on a pwm of ca. 25-50% because the heat is pushed out way more with the filament.

      Since fans take time to change speed, there would need to be some sort of look ahead, that compensates for ca. 1-2seconds lag of the fan.

      The T parameter in the M109 and M104 command selects the tool that the command applies to, hence the letter T. It wouldn't make sense for it to be a heater number, because you can assign any heater(s) to any tool.

      For maximum flexibility, configure your slicer to use G10 commands to set the tool temperatures, and let the firmware handle standby temperatures if you are using multiple heaters. However, the way that most common slicers use M104 and M109 is compatible with RRF.

      I've tested M24 after a heater fault pause using the forthcoming 2.02RC4 release, and it's working for me.

      Please note, when a heating fault pause occurs, you have a limited amount of time to correct it before the machine shuts down and abandons the print. You can configure this time using the M570 S parameter.

      K, seems it was my bad.
      Somehow someone removed M501 from the config.g.
      It was working because there is M501 in calibration macro, I added it there just in case some time ago.
