    • RE: Duet Wifi 1.04 and NPN NO inductive sensor

@dc42 Either i was looking at another page or something changed. I checked again the article
      https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Connecting_a_Z_probe#Section_NPN_output_normally_open_inductive_or_capacitive_sensor
and i can no longer see the text saying i need to add a pulldown resistor. Also i saw on a post about adding a diode. This is not mentioned in the wiki. Is it needed or not?

So do i need a pulldown resistor or a relay as mentioned above? Or can i connect the 6-36v inductive sensor directly to duet and especially on the z probe sensor?

Can you please provide some diagram to what i need to connect?
Based on the wiring diagram for the v1.04 alt text i see the z probe connector shows z probe in, gnd, z probe mod, +3.3V.
My inductive sensor model(LJ12A3-4-Z/EX) with blue, brown and black wires. Normally this would be
Brown 24vdc+, Blue 24vdc-, and black is signal.
So i need to connect the black(signal) to the z probe IN pin. Blue(-) to GND on always on fans and brown(+) on V_Fan on always on fans? Or do the + and - cables connect somewhere else? Can the always on fans take this config by default or do i need to change some jumper or something?
Is the correct wiring as shown in this image?alt text

I have read this thread but my conclusion to what the right way is, is not clear. (https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/6779/pnp-inductive-sensor-and-wiring/18)

    • RE: Fans not working after updating to RRF3.2

So I replaced the fan with a new one. Either that fan was bricked or it's cable.
Now everything seems to work right.

After all it was a wiring issue as no major changes to files were made.

      Thank you all!

@phaedrux Yeah probably. I tried the 100 and was too slow. 😄 I have F1000 in my M558 and probably that is being used. I started the test print and seems to be working like a charm. 🙂

Thank you very much. I would not manage to get it done this fast without your help. Cheers!
Wish you the best and a Happy New Year mate.

So for anyone confused set positive value for trigger height in G31 command!!

@jay_s_uk @fcwilt I went back to the stock config g from the config tool.
But it was not a solution. Then I decided I should check the wiring. Turns out one cable from each connector of the fans was loose and I easily removed them.

I put them back. The tool fan works now.
      The other one does not.

I guess only way to find out is to check another fan/wiring directly on the board and see.

One thing I can note for the installation of BLtouch that did not really make sense,
But it does not respond to M280 P3 S10 as I expected for the config,
      but it responds to M280 P0 S10.

@fcwilt I do not think so either.

It should not matter as I did not change anything in the fans connections. But I added a BLtouch so posting a picture of the wiring just in case you see anything weird.
