    • BLTouch doesn't work

      Hello,

I have a Problem with my BLTouch. It will not deploy!
I have checked the wiring. It is definitely connected right.

I have not a config-override.g file inside the system. I have also updatet the firmware to the latest release 3.3.

At the start the BLTouch does it's self test.

With the M401 Code, the BLTouch will not deploy.
      Same with the M280 P0 S10 Code.

      M280 P0 S10 = 5,75V
      M280 P0 S90 = 5,55V

      Could that be correct?

Do you have any Idea, why the BLTouch will not deploy?

      Thanks for your help!

@joergs5 The BLTouch should work fine. At the start, the BLTouch does it's self test.

The BLTouch worked at another borad fine. So i think, that is not the problem.

      I'm sorry that I haven't answered.

Of course I'm using the enable inputs. That was my fault. Can I check there, if they work?

I haven't this setting. I can only change the ampere and the microstepping.

      Thanks

Yes before the ampere of the one external stepper driver was changed while the system was running. It was changed to 4 ampere.

I changed the motor after I saw, that the motor was damaged and changed the ampere to 1.5.

But after that none of the 4 Motors will drive again.

      Thanks

      Hi Frederick,

      Thanks for your help.

      I changed the M92, M566, M203, M201, M906 to single values, as you said.

But the Z-Motors are still not running.

      Do you have another Idea?

      Many Thanks!

    • Z-Motors don't drive powered by external stepper driver

      Hello,

I have a Problem with my 4 Z-Motors. They aren't moving, if I would like to home my printer.

The Z-motors are connected at external stepper driver. They were powered by one 48V 13A power supply.
      Motors: 4 x Nema 23 1.8A
      External stepper driver: 4 x leadshine dm556

The ampere of the one external stepper driver was changed while the system was running. It was changed to 4 ampere.

I changed the motor after I saw, that the motor was damaged and changed the ampere to 1.5.

But after that none of the 4 Motors will drive again.

The external stepper driver are connected to the Duet Expansion Breakout Board.

The Power supply is working normally. Same with the external stepper driver. The green led is on.

I also changed the Duet Expansion Breakout Board, because I thougt, that the Board is damaged.

      But that wasn't the problem.

@BoA Ok, thanks for your opinion, I thought, that less steps/mm are better for the motors, so they are more quiet and don't get so hot.
But if it's not right, I will change the gears.

      @BoA

      The x Axis:
      leadscrews 12x25mm
Motor: 1.8° (200 steps per rev)
      Gear Ration: 1:0.56
(0.56 = 20 teeth (at the leadscrew) / 36 teeth (at the motor))

      The Y Axis:
      2 leadscrews 14x70mm
      2 Motor: 1.8° (200 steps per rev)
      Gear Ration: 1:0.56
(0.56 = 20 teeth (at the leadscrew) / 36 teeth (at the motor))

      @BoA Tahnks for your reply

      So I've to change the 355.56 steps/mm to 1152 steps/mm?

    • Help with Steps per mm

      Hi,

I've a little problem with my steps per mm for the z axis.

      My configuration:
4 external stepper driver (leadshine dm542eu)
      4 leadscrews 20x5mm
      4 Motors: 1.8° (200 steps per rev)
      Gear Ration: 1.8:1
(1.8 = 36 teeth (at the leadscrew) / 20 teeth (at the motor))

Resulting steps per mm: 355.56 at x16 microstepping

My problem is, that the z axis drives to less.

For example, when I drive 50mm the printer only move about 30mm.

I've checked everything 5 times and I don't find the Problem.
