@mrehorstdmd that's kind of what I had in mind. My bed is not over powerd by any means so it takes a while to get up to temp. That gives the chamber some time to heat up and a 500x500 bed should help heat the enclosure too. I think I will try with the one heater for now and plug the machine into a watt meter to see if I have enough power left for a second heater if needed.

@mrehorstdmd said in safety relay for ssr heated bed.:

How are you going to protect the protection relay from some crud preventing its armature from moving, or from the contacts welding shut?

My relay is noisy so I hear it clicking on each time I turn the printer on. Kind of a self test.

"perfect is the enemy of good" . 😉

It not a perfect solution but it reduces the risk of fire due to a short in the duet's mosfet or the SSR.

@Veti I think you must be right about the sagging axes. Or possibly bent. I redesigned my z motion system and now have two motors, leveled the bed the best I could and put 6mm regular belts on it for now. It's a bit better but still has the same problems in the same spots. The center of the bed is usable now so I can start printing the parts for my redesign.

Bigger belts smaller z probe offset and might switch to 20x40 extrusions on edge to mount my linear rails on

@Phaedrux Thanks I will have to try that. It would mean the slider on my web interface wouldn't work but that doesn't matter as long as the print gcode is handling it.

I saw a YouTube video on the compressor by AvE and I thought it was perfect for what I needed, only I didn't think of how to control it. 😅https://youtu.be/eEF-owkyI-o

First part came off the printer today, functional but I have a lot of tuning to do. now I can add post possessing gcode on the to do list as well.
