    • RE: Duet3d + 3hc Can cable lenght ?

      @dc42 awesome
Delays isnt a problem, just wanted to make sure the distance wouldnt cause connection issue.

    • Duet3d + 3hc Can cable lenght ?

I have couples of 3HC boards that I can't use on my projects so I will be using them as test bench for steppers and whatever weird crazy genius type projects I am working on in my lab. **No I don't wear a white coverall, and we don't have a politic against drinking at work.. so sometime it does get interesting.

I already have a workstation with a 6HC so they will be added to it. Only issue is my others station are about 10ft from that board.

If I totally disregard the delay between the boards (they won't be working together anyway) and use the 3HC boards to do really simple movement, how long can the can cable be ?

    • RE: Anybody using a Duet board with a Klipper SBC?

@Luke-sLaboratory any chance you can send me your config file ? Duet 3 mini should be close enought to duet 6hc.. Im still trying to find the stepper address for the 6hc board.

    • RE: Duet 3 - goodbye, SBC

I use stand alone, no touch screen, trough ethernet. Work like a charm..
After struggling with sbc for months I find stand alone much faster and also I can and supervise all of my machines from different web browser pages.
I just added a monitor to my computer and split the screen in 6.
Using remote desktop I can access all of them from anywhere and anything including my cellphone.. cant complain.

    • RE: Thinking about sbc. What is the benifit?

      There is none.
I used sbc for a while then only had issues. Standalone work soo much better and faster.

      @3DPMicro NOPE.
      Not safe. At all.
put some safety switches on your bed.

    • RE: Twin Extruder Motors - Push/Pull

You should try remote-direct extrusion. There are extruders available on thingiverse.

Or you make sure both motors/setup are exaclty the same and connect them in series (not parallel).and load some slack in between.

    • RE: SD Card corruption again, again

@gnydick I creat/test/bench printers parts, so when I want them to go trough a 72hrs+ hardcore run you should see the size of the gcode files..... even just a "circle" with 4096 sides is impressive.

    • RE: Single axis "printer" possible?

@whopping-pochard in your homeall file, just remove everything and write g92 x0 y0 z0.
You will be able to "print".

@jrockland **those where from when I was running with attach rasp boards..
      Probably much smaller now.

@gnydick depend how many projects you have on those cards.. my cards usually run around 12+ g when I back them up. But im running a ton of high def projects..

    • RE: SD Card corruption again, again

The problem doesnt come from the boards.
I use multiple duet3d boards with all kind of sd cards and never had that issue.
You might have fakes from amazon/ebay: They look 100% like the real one but are 8g instead of 32g, and as the board think they are 32g it keep writing and destroy the card.

I even once bough a fake from walmart. No joke. It is hard to find good stuff now.

    • RE: G30 Behavior on very heavy gantry

@Phaedrux actually doesnt work, when it does down to sense the speed/accell/jerk wont affect the stopping motion. It stay ruff even with the jerk and accell down to 1mm/sec.

    • RE: G30 Behavior on very heavy gantry

@fcwilt Phaedrux answered my question already, but regarding the part you don't understand: My gantry weight about 30lbs on that printer. When you move 0.2-0.5 lbs around you can stop really fast and change direction without too much issue. When you move a big machine it is a bit different: You have to calculate acceleration and deceleration.

Thank for the M558 A/S, I will look into it. I don't think they are set properly on that machine.

    • G30 Behavior on very heavy gantry

Can we change the G30 behavior ?
I'm working on a heavy gantry unit and went the z probe is activated, the motor quickly reverse to go back up a bit.
      I would love to :
-Quickly pause at the bottom to absorb the shock
-Act like X/Y : Go up a bit then slowly go back down to check Z a second time.

Please let me know, thank !

    • RE: Any thoughts on using ExoSlide for a CoreXY motion system?

There is already a core xy setup available on the link you posted.
Core xy is a great option, but it is really hard for the frame and parts.. it is why I prefer double inverted h-bot:

      • same xy movement as corexy (split between both motors)
      • the system square itself as it is pulled from the 4 motors at the same time
      • motors can be connected in series (x+(-x)) (y+(-y)) to save on stepper controller.
      • it doesnt work the frame as much as it only pull on 1 direction, making it possible to do 4 axis / angle gantry ( infinity z )

    • RE: Where the limit of stepper driver per boards come from ?

@fcwilt cant do 3Z, my gantry is 5 axis (does 45° angle on X and Y)
