Sorry if my setup is the reason, it is hard to debug when one does not know what to expect. If the setup could be the reason, then it is could also be that micro switch casing. I'll test without that too.

The extruder is also new.

Think of a G1 command without R0. The doc for G1 says you can specify any number of axis, and axis not specified will not participate in the move. For example, G1 X10 is perfectly valid and will not move Y or Z or any other axis. In fact, G1 is perfectly valid, and will move nothing. So G1 R0 moves nothing to the coordinates in memory slot 0.

The current BLTouch models should work OK with Duets (and other users seem to get them working), but if you use them connected to the Duet 2 or Duet Maestro Z probe input and you are using RRF3, then you must enable the pullup resistor in the M558 command.
