      @dc42
      so it would not reflect the z position in dwc?
      it is hard to tell if the baby steps did take effect

      That's correct, the Z position displayed in DWC is the commanded Z position, not the Z position after allowing for tool offset, workplace coordinate offset, bed compensation, axis skew compensation or baby stepping. However, DWC shows the current baystep offset on the Status (or Print Status) page.

      @dc42

      well 4hrs into printing, i think the e3d sensor (blue wire) did the trick. odd though cause when i measure the resistance its like 70k-100kohm and not the pt100 value of below 100ohms. its now cleaner than ever. i also replaced the cartridge and moved back to a newer 24V 50W ceramic type with 100% pwm.

      I believe it already is. On the General page select Firmware version 1.20 or newer.

      If the bltouch triggers the moment it is deployed due to the pin not dropping fast enough, adding some Z probe recovery delay should help. It's the R parameter in the M558 command. The units are seconds, so try e.g. R0.2. Alternatively, add a G4 delay command at the end of deployprobe.g.

      Have you tried a different USB port, and a different USB cable?
