    • RE: Printing different than GCode

I think you both might be on to something. The error area is at one of the extreme ends. I'll try turning the print by 90º (or maybe 45º) to see if that fixes it.

A little embarrassed actually - comparing what was printed to Cura, it appears that around 1cm is cut off from the bottom. Time get the bounds of the print surface dialled in.

    • Printing different than GCode

For some reason the resulting print is different than the GCode.

      Printer:
BLV Cube with Duet2 Wifi and firmware 3.1.1

I designed the file in Fusion360, exported the stl and sliced it in Cura 4.7.1 . One of the attached pictures is the path from Cura. The path for the bottom layers looks very linear.

I analyzed the GCode with an online viewer and it also shows that the path for the bottom layers are very linear. This is the second attached picture.

And finally the reality: most of the bottom layers are linear, however once it reaches the very bottom it starts to fan out and fill in the rest. This means that it repeatedly goes over the same start point creating a lump. I paused the print, shaved down the lump and allowed it to do the second layer. Once it reached the end it did the same thing. I re-sliced, tried it again and it continues to happen.

I'm not sure where the problem lies, but since Cura is showing the same thing as the online analyzer, I'm thinking it may be with Duet? I thought these devices just follow GCode and don't do any "thinking" of their own?

That seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

Yes, here's the gcode I tried printing in the video.

    • Extruder temperature drops after print start

I'm new to the Duet 2 Wifi and I'm coming across a problem that I haven't come across in my searches.

I like to print at 215ºC and that's the temperature I've set in Cura. When I start a print, it gets up to that temperature and is able to get the first few layers of the brim when it stops extruding. I check the temperature and it's at ~160ºC. It looks like the active and standby temps change to 1ºC?

These are my temp settings in Cura:

    • RE: Problems with setup

      Just saw this post: https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/9212/duet-wifi-board-sparked-on-first-time-usb-connection

Taking a look at my board, there seems to be the same thing on the U3? Would that cause the same symptoms I'm experiencing? Is there anything I can do or will this need to be a warranty claim?

I am having a hard time making out the markings on the U3 chip. The last two lines seem to be:
      1651
      375L

I hope this can track down a bad batch.

    • Problems with setup

I got my Duet 2 Wifi recently (original, from Printed Solid) and I've been having problems getting it setup. I tried following the dozuki documentation but I couldn't get it to work on two separate computers. Both my Macbook pro and Surface Pro say that there's a power surge on the USB port and the device is drawing too much power to support. I've tried pressing and holding the reset button with no changes.

I manually loaded on a configuration file to the SD card thinking that might bypass the dozuki setup, but that didn't help either.

The Duet came in a shielded bag and it didn't look like the box had been tampered with. I checked the fuses and they all seem to be intact. I'm afraid to attach 24V, but I will if that will help troubleshoot the issue.

      Thank you for your time.
