    • Extruder always in spread cycle mode (mini 5+)

Thomas Sanladerer posted a 2nd test with the revo roto
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjwPWPhLR8M&t=1s
and found out that it works better in spread
      cycle mode.

my question is, how do I set the extruder to only spread cycle mode?

In the dokumentation configuring spread cycle is missing at the moment
      https://docs.duet3d.com/en/User_manual/Connecting_hardware/Motors_tuning
and in the configuring stealth chop I can set the points whrere the system jumps
between both. But if I want no stealth at all, on the extruder ?

    • RE: retract settings in config vs slicer, who wins

      @deckingman
      @paralepsis

OK, I think I got it. But is there a config.g limit or not? paralepsis says yes deckingman says no
I will tell the specific case
I am using a Revo Roto.

The datasheet tells me these numbers
      • Extruder current 600mA Peak (425mA RMS)
      • Nominal steps per mm (x16): 2710
      • Maximum extruder acceleration: 1000 mm/s2
      • Maximum extruder jerk: 2 mm/s
      • Retraction length: 1.25 mm
      • Retraction speed: 30 mm/s
      • Wipe while retracting:
      • Lift Z: 0 mm

those numbers were put into the wizard
      924c02a7-ef44-4717-992f-2f6061c2d1c1-image.png

I don´t have any M207 code in the config.g and in the slicer, firmware retract is "not" set.

In the printing profile from a friend I found that retract was set to 2,5mm@40mm/s. both values are too high in regard to the data sheet.

my question will I have 2.5m retract or the config.g values with 1.25mm

      @droftarts
thanks for advise , I thought because of the initial config.g settings in the wizzard these numbers are a kind of security limit.
So theoretically I am able to overwrite all config.g setting within the g-code generated by the slicer?

    • retract settings in config vs slicer, who wins

when I set the retraction setting in the config.g i.e. 1mm
and the slicer has a setting with 2,5mm which will win ? (prusa slicer)
in which direction is the config limiting the value? never less than 1mm or never more than 1mm !

thanks for input, I will test this linked advises.

@achrn pausing the print would be good

    • how to monitor the fan speed tacho / alarm when low or 0

In my printer you can´t see the extruder fan not that good and sometimes filament is blocking it an I do not see it always.
The fan has a tacho output, which works good and is displayed in DWC.
But how can I react of a too low rpm ?

    • RE: magnetic rotating filament sensor does not save the settings

OK, that´s so obious that I did not thought about it. Can't see the forest for the trees.
I thought because of statistics which the sensor sends back with M591 D0 there has to be an internal memory.
      🤦

    • magnetic rotating filament sensor does not save the settings

I do have the magnetic rotating filamentsensor, it works as it should but the settings which I tell him are not saved when I turning off the printer.
i.e. procentage reduced to 40% to 160% and check distance 5mm, it always has the devault value.

      what I am doing wrong

next question is: in which file is this included if I want to copy this to several other identical printers ?

    • Combining printhead wires !

I want to save some wires to the printhead, and to save some time for try and error I asking into the forum.

      My specs are

Extruder with 5V 3 wire fan
      BL touch
5015 12V part cooling fan with 4 wires
and x and y endstop switches

I already know that I can save one gnd at the bl touch and one for the endstops.
also I am using the 5 V+ from the BL-touch and the 5v extruder fan
GND bl touch + GND 4 pin fan + GND Endstops are one wire

what else can I combine? Is it possible to connect the heater to GND
I think the 5V fan GND could not be connected to the other ones ?
