      @T3P3Tony @o_lampe
      Yes, have ordered new gearboxes(worm) with higher ratios to mitigate this issue.
      The problem with the motors de-energizing when changing assignments still remains though.
      I messed around with the firmware but couldn't produce any results.
      It seems to be a firmware limitation as was said before and to move forward I've ordered a 6XD with drivers so that I can control the enable and power separately; hopefully that should be enough to get the levelling logic working reliably.

      @sotpurk I have moved this to the firmware wish listm, based on the conversation here:

      @sotpurk said in Capable of running 14 motors for motion?:

      Could you possibly send some links for the mechanism you're talking about for the bigger machines?

      Actually I didn't know it existed already, when I "invented" it. Another user pointed out, it was used in heavy machines as anti racking mechanism.
      The principle is a steel- or aramid wire wound around two pulleys. The meeting ends are tightened and the summed up forces on the pulleys keep it aligned with the frame: TA-DA anti racking.

      @sotpurk yes you could connect Duet3D thermocouple daughter boards to a SAMMYC21.

      It should also be possible to connect more than two thermocouple daughter boards to a single Duet main board, if you have a spare iox.out pin to use as the CS pin for each additional thermocouple.
