@gtj0 Impressive! Shielded stepper cables?
Planning to install a Pi once DSF is a little more stable. Curious what pins you connected from the D3 to the Pi. Interested in only using what’s necessary and leaving the rest for future GPIO.
PS Your bearing block on the Z lead screw is a great idea. Might have to steal that one

@mwolter check out the schematics. The required connections are listed there. If you supply an isolated external 5v (negating need for the +5V cores) to the Pi I'm not sure if it would be possible to save on a few of the negative connections too.
Edit: if you do use an external supply for the pi ensure the dc negative isn't directly linked to earth as you could set up an earth loop with considerable current if your main psu is earth tied.

earth loop
drew up an isolator (back in January) but haven't had a chance to test it (nor decided weather to add a 3.3v ldo instead of a 3.3v header)
suppose could create a new topic to discuss if there is interest. (edit, changed to ADuM1200BR to allow 10mbps, ISO7721DR seems to be pin compatible and i'll do a test with that)
Moved it to a a less personal EasyEDA account, https://easyeda.com/bearer/duet36hc-isolator -
@bearer nice work!
-
@bearer isn't 1200 "not for new designs" replaced with 120n ?

quite possibly, I just picked what jlcpcb could assemble today (initially the 1mbps part because it was in the basic selection)
i would suspect any new parts to be pin compatible so not something i put much thought into tbh.
-
@bearer yeah 120n is pin compatible upgrade

Yes. 2 pair 20ga STP

As @DocTrucker said, check out the schematic...
https://github.com/Duet3D/Duet3-Mainboard-6HC/blob/master/Duet3_Mainboard_v1.0/Duet3_MB_schematic_v1.0.pdf
I'd connect at least pins 20 and 25 for grounds. That keeps the pins needed in a group from 19-25.PS Your bearing block on the Z lead screw is a great idea. Might have to steal that one
Go for it!

Thanks @DocTrucker and @gtj0!

I really like the modular approach you took and would like to mod your enclosure to fit my delta (and to add a Raspberry PI 7" screen to it. I tried loading in your files to FreeCad, but it struggled a bit to create a meaningful shape from the mesh.
What did you make them with?
Could

@jumpedwithbothfeet cant seem to get any of these to download. are they still viable? Trying to put together a 6hc+pi4+3eb enclosure so i can get my printer put together
-
@bam Which ones are you referring to?
-
@Phaedrux I ended up building my own, don’t know how to upload a picture here but it’s nearly done. Just need to either find or design a model to attach it to the psu

On my computer I just drag or paste an image file into the message I edit to post. Should be simple.

@bam @sylvaindc Hi sorry I've not replied earlier, do you guys still need the files or some adjustments done?
